What do you mean by "roasted" though? Does that mean yout 6th grade teacher got on Keaton's chocolate salty ballz?

Wikipedia:

The roast is an event in which an individual is subjected to a public presentation of comedic insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories, and heartwarming tributes, the implication being that the roastee is able to take the jokes in good humor and not as serious criticism or insult, and therefore, show their good nature. It is seen by some as a great honor to be roasted, as the individual is surrounded by friends, fans, and well-wishers, who can receive some of the same treatment as well during the course of the evening. The party and presentation itself are both referred to as a roast. The host of the event is called the roastmaster. Anyone who is honored in such a way is said to have been "roasted".

Sounds like a scam.

Twas a joke. ;)

Did your teacher teach Keaton when he was younger or something? I'm fascinated by a teacher roasting an actor.

No, I think she worked as a comedian or something that did shows for people. When she arrived to the place, the person told her the person she would be roasting is Batman. She told us like seven years ago, so I'm a bit blurry on the details. But I definitely remember the latter part.

lol "the person you'll be roasting is Batman"... that's amazing...

Michael Keaton is one of my favorite actors. He will always be Batman to me.

Great video!

On a random note, I love the scene of Batman, Penquin, and Catwoman outside Shreck's.

Does anyone else think the key to how Keaton played his Batman was how he nailed the dual personality issue that Bruce always has between his Batman side, like even in normal life he's always carrying that burden, I always liked the film for the way that was played out.

And the best Keaton moment for me is when the mimes waving at Bruce just before the Joker appears, and Keaton just shoots that mime this look that speaks more than a thousand words!

haha yeah I love when the mime waves in his face.

I thought Keaton was solid as Bruce Wayne... maybe he wasn't as outgoing as he could've been. Look at his behaviour at the party when he talks to Vicki and Knox... seems like a pretty normal guy to me there. Seems quite normal and social when Vicki is at his house for dinner as well. Not to mention he nailed Vicki... so they got the playboy aspect of the character right. If Keaton had been any more schmoozy I don't think it would've fit the film.

The mime waving at bruce still cracks me up. :funny:

Oh yeah definaley but remember even Knox comments on how excentrique Bruce is with his collection of armour and stuff at the party. And the bit when he flips out at the joker and smashes the vase, and not to mention swinging upside down on that bar after he's nailed Vicky!! But thats what I like about it, he's got this huge secret and is trying to go about as if everything is normal. Like in certain scenes it's as though his dual identities are merging, like after the mime bit when he gets clipped on the shoulder and doesn't even flinch as he walks up to the car the jokers in. I know it's fashionable now to bash Tim Burtons vision of Batman, but i've always felt it struck just the right note for the character. And Keaton was the perfect muse for that character.

Agreed, he was so terrific. His Batman portrayal is my favorite I think. But I love many others too.

Absolutely. It's simply gold.
