Inhumans The Mike Moh is Triton Thread

Mike Moh, eh?

Can't believe Capcom predicted this!

That answers my question! Not familiar with the actor though.

Good for Mike Moh. He's a super nice dude and he deserves this gig. Met him and talked to him when he was on Street Fighter Assassin's Fist. He's a nice humble guy.

Oh wow can't wait to see him in action. I reckon with proper screen time I could actually really like Triton

I hope he can hold his breat underwater. As some cbms have showed us it's the most vital skill to play an underwater character :yay:

Yeah, but they can't fake swimming if he has bad technique (eg he lets his feet drop, or he swims too flat or he looks like he's fighting against the water etc). He would just look like an amateur.

While it can be argued that he can swim any old way as someone who can breathe underwater, it won't look good if he's doing a doggy paddle, or doing that granny-styled breaststroke.

I hope they go full on prosthetics in the same way AoS did with Ruth Negga, full on monster make up.

I suspect it'll be prosthetics. It's much easier to do on a TV schedule. I think the bigger concern I have is mixing the prosthetics with water. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any underwater closeups of him swimming.

For the underwater scenes, they should really make him a rubber suit that will withstand that sort of environment. That way any prosthetics won't come off as it will all be one piece (or at least the mask will be one piece, with the rest of it in as few pieces as possible - eg a bodysuit, gloves, boots etc).

The makeup will be done by CGI as it was revealed in the character breakdowns.

"We’re talking about Triton, another of Black Bolt’s cousins and the brother of Karnak. “SFXMU” is an acronym for “special effects makeup,” and whoever gets this role is bound to need a lot of it"

SFXMU doesnt necessarily mean CGI.

Yup, still one of the most striking visuals on the show's run to date. Right up there with Ghost Rider.

You do know that when we say special effects in 2016 it means CGI right? otherwise the description would specify just "makeup".

Really? So when the description SPECIFICALLY points out for this character "Special Effects Makeup" what does that mean? That they will use prosthetics? or that CGI will be used to enhance his appearance? Because if it was just prosthetics as i 'm sure this is the case with characters like Gorgon there would be no need to label them "SFXMU".

I guess this will be the first test to see if they can do mo-cap on tv. If it works, She-Hulk might not be far away :yay:

Just type in SFXMU in google images and see what comes up. That's what's meant. (Warning, quite a bit of fake blood)

I don't see why Gorgon would need prosthetics other than his legs being bovine in nature.

latest

As for under water prosthetics, it should be doable. Quickly searched for it and found pics like this:

Apparently it was also a challenge on the show Face Off

Or they used the term because they count on people knowing what it means. Let's flip your argument around. If they were talking about a character who would just be doing motion capture for CGI, why wouldn't they specify that, instead of using a term that has nothing to do with CGI?
