The Most Phoned-In Performances of All Time

Star Wars was campy fun as was Indiana Jones. Blade Runner was the film that showed he could be a serious actor.
yes. but he could do BR because he was in SW .

Yeah, I remember liking The Watcher and thinking Keanu played a cool bad guy. It's been a long time since I've seen it though; maybe I'd think it sucks if I watched it now.

Love Leonard Nimoy but should he get a pass because of his age for his performance of Sentinel Prime in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon?

Really? I thought he did ok. I'll have to watch it again sometime. It's probably the only time he'll ever play a villain.

He plays the villain in his movie Man of Tai Chi.

It's funny how the majority of Die Hard 5, Bruce's just behind a vehicle or just standing as he's shooting. Seriously.

Maybe there's a few shots of him jogging about.

It was mostly standard outside the offbeat casting of Keanu. I'm still kinda hoping it will show up on Netflix streaming.

The thread should be re-titled to name a Bruce Willis performance from the past ten years.

It's a shame we can't even have this discussion without mentioning Bruce Willis. It was strange to see his face on some direct to dvd films at the redbox.

It's the same picture of him on all those covers too.

'Bruce Willis stars as generic action man'.

Even though he was good in IM3, why do I feel like RDJ doesn't care about Iron Man anymore?

I too feel like RDJ was off his 'Tony Stark' game in IM3. He didn't hit his usual marks for some reason and yeah, it felt like RDJ was getting tired of the role.

Yes I completely agree with the two above. Compare the scene in IM1 where Stark is on the roof with Staines and Pepper has to blow the reactor (Stark looks like he is just to about to blow in to tears) to all of IM3. It just doesn't compare IMO.

The weirdest part of IM3 for me, even though I liked it, was that Stark had very little reaction to Pepper possibly dying.

That was just a weird shot in general. Everyone knew she didn't die. Not just because we're geeks but there was no 'dramatic beat' to let that scene breathe. There was no emotion. So obviously she survived. Even my mom didn't think she died when I took her to see the film.

You know what was a better 'fake-ish death' moment? In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, when Henry got shot. Obviously he was still alive but that one moment when he got shot and Indiana crying, only to jump at Donovan had enough emotion to make the scene work.

Yeah, the scene was weird overall but Stark acting like it was nothing was - on the acting side - very strange. There wasn't much time to do anything much really, but it didn't even seem to register in Stark's mind.

I actually felt this more in the Avengers, at least up until the team meets up on the carrier.

I actually felt like Downey was fine in Avengers. I think his lines came off a little differently due to Whedon's style.

You didn't like Bruce's iconic shrugs of apathy in the movie, Englishman? Or the now classic line of 'I'm on vacation'. That tickles me! hoy hoy hoy!
