I loved the original. The remake made the mistake of explaining way too much. It really was bad.

Seriously, Tom Welling was probably the best part of the film and that’s saying a lot.
I absolutely can’t imagine a film where this could even be the case, guess it’s a must-watch now for curiosity’s sake. :D

$6.8 million second weekend for Joker? Looks like audiences have rejected comic book movies about white cishet guys. Probably time to wrap them up, right?

Yep, Venom 3 is over.

Venom is gonna make huge bank

The Numbers has Joker at $5000 (you read that right) more than Beetlejuice, a movie that came out weeks ago. It is possible Beetlejuice ends up ahead in the actuals tomorrow. That's just pathetic.
Yep. Going to be close with actuals. I think BJ could take it, because it's clearly had the stronger Sat/Sun.

Great run for Beetlejuice. OS was always going to be hit or miss, but it's done fine. Domestic though, a really solid hit. With how well it's doing in spooky season, could see it getting to 300m domestic, though in no way a sure thing.

450m overall, while Joker overall won't touch it's domestic total. :hehe:

I wonder if it would have made a difference at all if WB swapped Beetlejuice 2 and Joker 2's release dates. Joker 2 might have been able to recoup some box office because those bad reviews from the Venice premiere wouldn't have been simmering for a month and Beetlejuice 2 could have been living a little larger during spooky season with an October release date.

For Beetlejuice, the release date was perfect. Labor Day weekend was built for larger horror flicks. September is when people start watching spooky season stuff but you also don't lose nearly as much momentum on the backend, because people are still watching it in October. Beetlejuice will have life for basically 2 months.

Which makes absolutely no sense in hindsight, considering the guy very clearly has no interest or enthusiasm for any of these characters. I don’t mind getting a little ahead of myself when I say that James Gunn was the best person available for the job.

I’d even go as far as to say that Bryan Singer had more reverence for the source material he was working with, and we all know the stories there

Maybe white, but it sure has hell ain't het.

Take it with a grain of salt.

I mean, makes sense to me. No one knows what the **** is going on with Armor Wars, makes sense it is scrapped.

Joker 2 was never going to do as well. It never had the aura of controversy that the first one had leading to its release.

Not kink shaming, but I see symbiotes as a latex fetish if the latex was a living being. :o

Apparently , WB is inflating the numbers for Joker this weekend so it stays in the top 3 but know that tomorrow when the numbers come out Beetlejuice will be ahead.
