Yall wild.

Get Christopher Daniel Barnes, Jennifer Hale back and John Semper to write and I’m a happy camper. Bring Osborn back, let Pete and MJ live the married life and give birth to Mayday, sprinkle Miles somewhere and it would cook.

Quick sidebar: why didn’t any of you guys ever tell me that food poisoning FEELS LIKE THIS.

I wouldn’t wish this feeling on my worst enemy. :csad:

That sounds horrible, Shinobi. So sorry you had to go through that :csad:

I had food poisoning (at least I think it was food poisoning) about a decade ago. I bought a tuna fish sandwich at the mall, and even though it tasted a bit 'strong', like an idiot I ate it anyway.

Later that night my stomach was literally on fire. It lasted for days too and I lost a ton of weight, which is not a good thing when you're only 5'4" and weigh about 98 pounds soaking wet...

Anyway, hope you feel better my friend :yay:

Sheeeeesh! Yeah sis, tuna fish will bubble your guts QUICKLY.

And thank you my lovely friend. :ilv:

So I saw Deadpool & Wolverine this week. I really enjoyed it, especially since I follow all the behind-the-scenes drama of these movies and so almost all of the jokes landed for me. That said, I had some issues with the… ummm… story. So much of the movie didn’t make any sense. For example…

Deadpool has apparently always been set in the 616 universe, according to the beginning of the movie. So that means that the X-Men movies have also been a part of this universe? Or maybe just Logan?

Speaking of Logan, why is Laura in the void? The others you can kind of brush off since they are characters who have been recast or never cast in Gambit’s case, but why would the TVA kidnap Laura after the events of Logan and put her in the void?

Wade has a tempad, which not only can transport you to different universes but also can take you back or forward in time. So why didn’t get just go back to the final battle in Logan and help him avoid getting killed?

Speaking of which, we’re supposed to believe that an entire universe will collapse because ONE guy whose last job was a limo driver got killed. Okay. But like… does that mean that for the universe to survive, Logan can NEVER die? I know he’s lived for centuries but old age will eventually get to him so when that happens, the entire universe goes with him?

Why did the TVA kidnap Wade in the first place? And they never considered that doing so might cause him to try and stop them?

I know we’re not supposed to think too much about the movie but for a movie with so many writers and contributors, you would think they would have taken a little more time to think some of this stuff through instead of going with “just don’t worry about it” approach.

A couple other minor critiques…

I enjoyed most of the cameos, especially Gambit lamenting how he never got to be in a movie and the moment where they outright mocked the MCU for not being able to get a new Blade movie off the ground. On the latter, it was great seeing Wesley Snipes back in the role, though some of his line delivery was… odd. I don’t remember what his first line was but I remember briefly thinking, “Wait… is he playing British Blade?” And honestly that would have been a hilarious joke. But then he said something else and I realized he wasn’t. lol

Cassandra having a bunch of old Marvel villains played by no-name actors seemed kind of unnecessary. Because half of them looked nothing like the actors who played them originally and that made it a little difficult to know who they all were. I don’t even realize Psylocke was in the movie until I watched a New Rockstars video afterwards recapping everything. They really all just felt like nameless henchmen so they probably should have just been that. As-is, it felt like they got a bunch of “superheroes” on Hollywood Boulevard to show up as extras.
Engaging the brain is a very dangerous choice with this kind of movie! Even putting it in first gear can completely wreck the experience and have it all come tumbling down. My strategy is sit back like a dumbass and let it hit you and you’ll have a blast. :hehe:

I’m personally still fond of that slick Daredevil’s dead, that’s okay exchange between Deadpool and Garner Elektra.
That was the one joke that made me laugh out loud.

Sorry to hear about your food poisoning. Hope you’re all better now! The one usually merciful thing about food poisoning is that doesn’t last very long lol.

That was funniest joke in the movie for me

I'm almost embarrassed at how hard I was laughing at all the butt slapping during the suit up scene, followed by "Your tailor's a predator" followed by the whole back and forth with the TVA guy calling HR. "Is your wife in HR?"

I’ve been so out of the loop when it comes to watching movies, but I appreciate WBD going back to the original New Line opening instead of the WB transition.

Great to hear. Especially with him emphasizing they weren’t gonna start filming until the script was locked. So many of the egregiously terrible effects in modern superhero stuff goes back to big changes being made on the fly long after principal photography has wrapped.

That latest image of Stryker has him sporting that Martin Scorsese look.

Also, as usual, the headline is way more inflammatory than the actual quotes. He basically just says TV allows for more depth and risk taking than movies these days, which is absolutely true. Hell, even at Marvel, I’d still hold X-Men 97 above the vast majority of their recent cinematic output.

Just finished watching both the Thunderbolts* and Kraven trailers...

Thunderbolts* looks cool, if somewhat generic and derivative. I'm getting a definite spy-thriller vibe, reminiscent of Winter Soldier and the recent Brave New World trailer. Having said that, I love me some David Harbour and it looks like Florence Pugh's Black Widow will be central to the plot, which is welcome. The trailer also suggests that Thunderbolts* will lack the gonzo, outlaw spirit of Gunn's Suicide Squad but, considering the box office failure of that latter film, it's hardly surprising that Marvel would want to go in a different direction...

Kraven, on the other hand, looks glorious and downright demented. I actually know people who are interested in seeing this in theatres and *gasp* I'm actually considering joining them! If I do, this will be the first Spider-Man adjacent Sony film I've watched theatrically. Who knew...

Now if you folks will kindly excuse me, I've got 20 pages of posts to get caught up on, just in this thread alone :p
I’ve had them on my list of things to do all this time but finally saw them just now after seeing your post earlier.

I’m definitely interested in Thunderbolts now. So glad Pugh got introduced into the MCU and making her a focal character is a good move. If it can get any elements up to TWS standard (Brave New World too as you mention), we could be in for a good time ahead.

Kraven looks all out crazy. :funny:

After being inspired by Deadpool & Wolverine and the overall hype train for Fantastic Four next year, guess who just had a double feature of Elektra and Fant4stic, maybe the two worst Marvel movies ever made after seeing that they were both on Max?

I thought Elektra was a little worse because I never even bought Garner as the character in Daredevil but this movie made the Fox Daredevil look like the Netflix Daredevil. :o

Fant4stic I was more familiar with after having watched the CinemaSins video for it long ago (back when I watched CinemaSins). It was still bad in virtually every way but to my surprise the acting was fine in that they all seemed like they wanted to be there. It's a damn shame because Toby Kebbell could have absolutely killed it as a proper Dr. Doom in a better movie.

On the one hand I'm mad at myself for doing this but on the other hand, now I've officially seen every theatrically released Marvel movie. Yay?

Saw the original Kraven trailer before Alien: Romulus today, the one with the October release date.

It was like greeting an old friend.
If that's what you call a friend, I am so sorry. Life must have been rough on you :o
