Disappointing, but not surprising.

And the whole concept of Multiverse in the MCU is not nearly as good and intriguing as it is in Into the Spider-Verse.

Exactly what many people here said they didn’t want. No back to a smaller street level Spidey then - but I guess they’ve seen how the multiverse films have made bank so far while many others have struggled.

i dont trust Daniel RPK for this kind of stuff but i would not at all be surprised if Sony chose to just chase the money and have the three Spidermans team up again. What an awful creative decision that would be but hey it would make all the moneys though.

Daniel RPK isn't trust worthy at all when it comes anything other than miscellaneous marketing information. Hardly ever gets anything right.

That said, I'll be pissed if the next Spider-Man film is another multiverse film. I'm so sick of Spider-Man multiverse shenanigans. After Beyond the Spider-Verse, they'll have done almost everything interesting with the concept already. It's tired across every medium at this point. I mean 10yrs between small scale films is ridiculous.

Superman: The Movie (1978) - Haven't seen this since I was a kid - can't wait to revisit it sometime soon.

Superman II (1980) - Ditto.

The Death and Return of Superman (2019) - The only DCAU film I own, still haven't watched it yet...
You need to fix this :)

I absolutely love the scope and ambition to S:TM, even if the overall story is somewhat lacking and I’m not enamored with Kidder’s Lois.

Superman 2, along with Batman ‘66 and Challenge of the Superfriends, are probably the reason why little BABillyGunn became a comic book fan in the first place.

And I stand behind my belief that Death of Superman is the best Superman film made to date. Peter Tomasi may be the best modern Superman writer and he penned the script and filled it to the brim with heart and earnestness.

Sounds like classic Sony exec thinking. Can imagine them calling it NWH2 or No Way Home Again.

This is disgusting. No actor should ever command this high a price tag, especially for an ensemble movie. This'll never happen but if Avengers 5 & 6 bomb and Marvel Studios got significantly downsized as a result they would deserve it.

Too early to say but if this is true then I guess Sony got their way if the rumors were true about them wanting another Multiverse story and Feige wanting a street level story.

I wonder how Holland feels, because rumours were going around that he also supported them going a street-level route.

Still shocked by Downey Jr. pay!

No actor is worth that much. RDJ is an incredible talent but he should be ashamed of himself for taking that big of a paycheck when the industry as a whole is struggling and screenwriters, effects people and others are just scraping by. I get that as an actor you want a big payday but come on, man. **** like this could not only make the MCU implode but it could have damaging repercussions across the entire industry.

Is this the highest anyone's ever been paid for a film? And then with whatever he's taking out of the back end it will be higher than the total budget for pretty big films.

Not sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.

And we'll hear about inevitable cost-cutting elsewhere (like pay for VFX and lower level crew) as a result.
