The Naked Fun in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

It's all hope friend, sometimes blind hope, sometimes foolish hope, sometimes well-informed - there are no guarantees even with a dream team of proven creatives lined up across the board.

I've been "sure" some of my favourites would turn out well in the past. Many of them did and a fair few didn't to huge disappointment. I'm confident Reeves' Batman sequel will be very good, but I don't bet the house anymore when it comes to projects with so many moving parts.
Plus, the bar is low. I think this looks great but even if it lands in okay, then it's better then the other 3 by default. By a country mile.

But again, trailer shows me something that looks like the Fantastic Four. So I think my confidence is going to be rewarded

Let us not fight :marvel: and :dc:. Our enemy is the dinosaur. 🦖🦕
Me when the dinosaur movie is the best of the three:

Gareth Edwards, for as boring and empty as his films are, ensures me that the baseline of the film will be significantly better than Dominion. It's hard to sink lower than anything made by Colin Trevorrow. Jokersuarus is hard to top.

I trust James Gunn and Matt Shakman a lot more than Gareth Edwards

Well we're going to war now... This day was fun while it lasted.

I was mostly being sarcastic, as I too would trust Gunn a lot more than Edwards. Shakman I put in the same category.
He hasn't had an extensive resume of stuff I know of his I watched, but I was very fond of Wandavision and Monarch Legacy of Monsters. So between that and what we've seen so far, I trust the vision. Jurassic World.... kind of just done with the IP lol

Frankly I'm still shocked that Jurassic is on track to make its release date but this is a case where I'm rooting for everyone. Love what I'm seeing from Superman and Fantastic Four is my most anticipated Marvel movie since No Way Home but even though I was VERY disappointed in Dominion, I'm still excited to see what Edwards brings to the table for Jurassic World Rebirth. I can't help it, I've been a fan of that franchise for over 30 years (I mean naturally, peep the avvy :o).

But in terms of strictly box office, I'm really hoping Superman does well. Out of the three that's arguably the one that needs it the most.

I’m sorry but after the messy mess that was Creature Commandos and his… predilections, I’m still apprehensive about Gunn’s Superman.

But again I’m rooting for Corenswet, Brosnahan and Hoult.

I think he'll be on his best behavior with Superman, because his overlord wants it's old fashion lily style. What that says for the movie's quality? Who knows. I just wish I didn't have to see Nathan Fillion's face. It's going to ruin it for me, I know it.

I can’t “root” for Jurassic because the whole franchise has been nothing but diminishing returns since the original imo, but I suspect just with the cast and visuals alone (not to mention the hilariously ludicrous plot!), I’ll probably still end up enjoying this one more than the last several entries of that franchise.

While we all know which one I think will be the best, I suspect all 3 will turn out fine and please their intended audience.

LOL what’s your beef with him, pray tell?

They're searching the DNA of the 3 largest dinosaurs of the land, sea, and sky to cure heart disease...

Me in a theater six months from now watching a Superman movie that's wall to wall dick jokes knowing I'm gonna have to eat crow after reassuring you that wasn't gonna happen:

It's embarassing that Jurassic found a director on two weeks notice and will look infinitely better then the two prestige superhero flicks. :weeping:
