The Naked Fun in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

I loved the Jim Lee covers but other than that, they relied on guest stars with fake outs and a forced fight with Superman. This was Jason Todd is alive before they actually brought him back. But overall, it wasn't that great of a story. Tying Riddler to Hush makes sense, but you can't really do anything else from the storied comic series in the Reeves movie, and would have to be extremely streamlined.

LOL as if they'd have him back. I literally forgot all about this guy. In the couple of times that I've watched D&W, it totally slipped my mind that Weasel isn't in the movie. I guess that shows how much of an impact TJ Miller had. All I'll say is that Cable and Domino's absences were way more noticeable, especially the latter.

Tom Hardy and Logan Marshall-Green

Evan Rachel Wood and Rachel Broshanan

Victoria Justice and Nina Dobrev

Josh Duhamel and Timothy Olyphant

Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley

Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry

Maggie Lawson and Alicia Silverstone

Zoey Deutch and Haley Lu Richardson

Anna Torv and Carrie Coon

Abbie Cornish and Rachael Taylor

.... Troy Aikman and Jay Z :o

Gotham is another show I am unlikely to ever watch lol! Back in the day when I watched Smallville, I more or less followed that when it was current. If I had been born after the fact and saw it was 10 seasons of about 22 episodes per season, I wouldn't have been likely to put in those hours lol.

I didn't even make it through the first episode of Gotham, lol.

Gotham in concept sounds like a good idea for a show. A young Jim Gordon investigates the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne while navigating the corrupt waters of the Gotham city police force. Its a great elevator pitch.

Problem is it doesnt work past one season and the writers clearly felt they needed somehow introduce Batman’s rogues to keep the show interesting…10 years before Batman existed.

TIL iZombie, Lucifer, Preacher and Dead Boy Detectives were DC properties.

And I have never even heard of half of those shows on that list. What the hell were Powerless, DMZ and Human Target? Why didn't we talk about those?

So many questions.

Gotham just never found its rhythm for my money. I love crazy stupid stuff. Do you know how giddy I was when Riverdale gave them all super powers to fight an interdimensional Confederate wizard? Great television. Gotham always felt like it was trying to be taken too seriously in what I watched of it. I never felt like it was really aware of itself.

Yeah I watched Gotham to the bitter, bitter end. Just as I did with Smallville. Neither was worth it.

Human Target's an underrated DC property/character, imo. Tom King's recent maxi-series was wonderful. I vaguely recall the show though. It seemed...fine, but not especially similar to the comics counterpart.

Were you a Krypton fan? I don't recall conversations on here about that show.

Always meant to give it a look.

They had Bane in a bad muscle suit (almost just pillows). It was wonderfully stupid.

I just realized I have to watch the Browns vs Steelers next Thursday, so I cannot see Wicked on Thursday. But the wife gave me permission to go see both it and Gladiator II on that following Saturday

So I guess I am doing the Glicked thing

No.

Had decent production values and I LOVED how they handled Brainiac, but the main characters were dull as dishwater and the writing was, well, Goyer quality. Brainiac was the one bright spot. Zod was ok.

I think you mean Wickedator.
