Your phrasing concerns me... Who said the dick joke?I mean, Superman didn't crack a single dick joke. So, your wrongness train begins![]()

The Gunt. They'll be included in the #GunnCut![]()
And I saw a few leaks but surprisingly not that one. For something as heavy as Jor-El being a villain, the movie really doesn't spend much time on it at all. This movie could do a lot of things wrong and I'd live. But as soon as I heard this in the leaks a few months back it was like the one thing that could actually ruin this for me. That it goes as far as it does really murders any hype I had.

That makes it sound like it's in the movie to either:
a) set something up for later.
or
b) Mr. Found Family wanted to do his same shtick again. Look at how he handles families in his other material.
I assume Gunn doesn't want to box himself in with that, and he's leaving it open to be followed up upon in another movie?
I don't think there was one and if there was, I missed it.Your phrasing concerns me... Who said the dick joke?
It kind of needs to be expanded upon considering Supergirl is around. I just don't think it will be. The film kind of moves on and ties a little bow to cap it all off. If there wasn't a Supergirl movie coming down the line, I'd believe they'd revisit it more.I assume Gunn doesn't want to box himself in with that, and he's leaving it open to be followed up upon in another movie?
So very happy you enjoyed it!My heart is so full right now. That movie was EVERYTHING.![]()

Christopher REEVEWell despite not everyone loving it I'm still very much excited to be checking out Superman this Thursday and so far I'm glad that the majority of the buzz is pretty positive.
I also just finished rewatching the Christopher Reeves movies and will try to get to Superman Returns tomorrow and eventhough those later movies aren't nearly as good as the first two movies I still do like them for the most part thanks to the returning cast.
Reeves charm and charisma just made him instantly likeable and very relatable in that role especially as Clark and I honestly forgot how much fun the late great Gene Hackman was as Lex Luthor in those movies.
Hopefully Corenswet and Hoult can become equally iconic in those roles although I know they are bringing something very different to the table with their iterations.
It felt EXTREMELY left open to me. Not that it bothers me either way - I've lived with Jor-El being a shady/questionable dude most of my life in comics and other media. He can go either way as far as I'm concerned, which is why I've never been remotely attached to that character. The Kents ARE Superman's heart and soul to me. You dismiss them or screw them up, you've ruined him, period. But it still feels to me like the whole Kryptonian side of things is gonna be more explored in Supergirl, as Gunn has essentially confirmed it will be in a more sympathetic light since that was Kara's whole world. I think the message of the story they told HERE was beautiful regardless. It kind of needs to be expanded upon considering Supergirl is around. I just don't think it will be.
