Let's just say I did not expect it to be about what it's about. While at time making me laugh harder then anything but Naked Gun this year. Eva Victor is an insane talent.

I honestly thank Liam for that. He made it clear it was wrong, irrational and that he's changed as a person. All the while opening a door into the mind of prejudice most white folk love to act like doesn't exist.

But I also get not being able to look past it.

My hot take

Dick, Jason and Damien are the only interesting ones. OG Robin, bad boy Robin and bio son Robin get the biggest spotlight.

Steph was only Robin for a hot minute and hardly anyone remembers her time as Robin. No one cares about Carrie Kelley. Tim has his fans but feels like the least relevant Robin now.

I don’t consider this a hot take. It’s more of a room temperature take.

Steph was a decent Robin, but a much better Spoiler and a great Batgirl, especially when paired with Cassandra as a team. But she existed as Robin mostly to show what a heartless and manipulative jerk Bruce could be.

Dick, Jason, and Damien are the big 3.

My hot take:
Damien is at his best as Robin when paired with Dick as Batman.

Haven't seen Weapons yet. Hope I get the time, but it's a busy month for me unfortunately. It may be a few weeks before I get another movie day.

The depth and cultural storytelling on display in that movie is just breathtaking. I really hope it will help inspire a blues revival in the black community. It is so weird that us middle-aged white guys seem to be the ones keeping the faith alive.

The fact that they got Buddy Guy to play old Sammie.

Sinners is the best theatrical experience I’ve had in years, just a stunning achievement all around.

I’ve never seen a movie successfully mash every genre together so well and it’s probably the best use of music in a narrative I’ve ever seen. That was a day-one purchase once it became available and I’ve listened to the soundtrack every week since it premiered.
