so do we know what's going on in the new ending besides the giant alien "squid" not being involved?

I know the Hayter script had
a final fight between Nite Owl and Ozymandias after Rorschach dies which resulted in Ozymandias's death
but I don't know if they're using any of that.

As far as any of us know, everything about the ending except the squid is intact.

The squid being taken out, I can take. But if they do that Snyder deserves to die. Or better yet, he deserves to live so that he can see his masterpiece catastrophically fail. It would only be fitting.

Well like I said, I don't know if they're going there, but I haven't heard anything that suggests they are.

It's more likely that he survives than dies.

why are people still afraid ozy is gonna die? that was old drafts of the script, and snyder all but said he lives. its not a concern. as for the changed ending, veidt blows up lots of s#!t making it look like it was doc manhattan attacking earth.

Everything other then the squid is intact exactly like the book from what I hear. Just Dan witnessing Rorschach's demise has been added.

Right now it's all speculation. Even Snyder "confirming" things doesn't mean they are actually true. I wouldn't be surprised if the squid ends up being there, and they have been denying it just to screw with us. I can't count the number of "confirmed" rumors about TDK that ended up being BS.

Well, the thing is, we have "confirmation" from people who have seen the movie. Plus Snyder himself said the Squidlet is out, didn't he? There was a thread.

I'm excited to see the new ending. But also afraid. Very afraid.

I think they should change the book to fit with the new ending, it sounds better.
Seriously though, I'm imagining it would have been weird not to have Dan have a reaction to Rorschach's death at the end of the movie, I think that is a major improvement over doing it exactly like the book. It's more the way it would happen irl in the book, ie he goes off to do something else, oblivious to what's happening outside. But for a movie, you sometimes need that feeling of having something tied up, having spent 2hrs or so with the characters.
The squid is a great wtf in the book, AM filled the book with many details to pad out the wtf with some plausibility, details that may be lost, or may not have been plausible to cram, in a movie. It would've looked great but may have sat there like a big joke in the movie. Folk thought Unbreakable's ending was too much ridiculous, I don't know what they'd think about that, it would be too much.

Which is great. I didn't like how Rorschach died in the book and nobody brought it up afterwards.

Just to clarify....

Ozy lives, pretty sure Kevin Smith stated(from his early screening) that all the characters' fates were unchanged in the film.
Which is real real good.

That's cause nobody cares about Rorschach. He dies alone and friendless, just the way he wanted.

uh I'm sure dan liked him...so...

You got that from the nervous glances, the many years where they didn't interact with each other at all, and the fact that once Rorschach disappears, Dan just goes on with his life like nothing happened?

It appears the subtlety of their relationship has slid past your awareness
