LOL, just like I predicted and most likely how many (NOT ALL) moviegoers saw this movie.
Not the impression I got from my crowd, but whatever.

Actually he quite literally said "some". "Home to SOME". You might want to quit while you are ahead, because you simply won't find quotes to back up your misinterpretation of what he said.
If the shoe doesn't fit, don't be offended by it.
I agree that it is open to interpretation. It's just that I think the most common reaction to that is the interpretation that he means "most of", or "commonly" (wich might be true, I'm not disputing that)It's still not a fact that he said all geeks were. He said geek culture is "home to some of the biggest"...and that is an opinion that I certainly share. It's still doesn't support any interpretation that claims he said "all geeks are teh badness"
No, it really can't, unless you are determined to see it that way.Yeah but since some can mean many when it comes to how large Geek culture is his quote can be interpreted as that most people who are geeks are ********.

Just try to say "The Hype is home to some of the biggest a-holes I have ever met", and see if most of people think that the shoe doesn't fit ang doesn't mind the comment![]()
Is not geek culture, it's just the internet that give people the chance to comment faster than they can think, and then since they are anywhere in the world, they are safe from the punches in the face they would get for saying a-holery thingsHoly crap though, the Hype IS home to some of the biggest a-holes I've ever encountered. Just two days ago one of the knuckle draggers created an account to not only come after me, but say some vile things about my little girls because they dared to enjoy the movie and I loved how much joy it gave them. The comments were taken down and that account banned, but I still have the private message. That's still not me saying most of the people here are a-holes. Geek culture does have some of the most obsessed, passionate, single minded people in the world, and when those people get upset, they can become a force of a-holery never before encountered by reasonable people.

EDIT: That applies to Feig's comment too![]()

The Ghostbusters world is alive and well, said Rory Bruer, president of worldwide distribution at the studio. I expect Ghostbusters to become an important brand and franchise, he told TheWrap on Sunday.

While nothing has been officially announced yet, theres no doubt in my mind it will happen, he added.
How do you read that and get that I mean that there is not a problem? If you take the infamous work of reading 2 or 3 of my last posts, you can see that I acknowledge that there are problems (If they are or not was not the point though, just if Feig said or didn't say something). The "it's not geek culture" refers to those problems as the problems of our society (geeks included), not a quality of geekdom.stop handwaving and take responsibility
this community has problems and to act like it doesn't is irresponsible
That's a good conclusion based on the premise that the people saying that is of good judgement, so you are safe thinking that wasn't directed at you. If it came from someone of poor judgement, his comment might be directed at attitudes that might as well be your own (ie even if you are sure you are not an a-hole, he thinks so and you are in your very right to take offense)Well I know that I'm not in the conversation but I honestly will never be offended by someone saying that. I've never done (and will never do) anything here that might make someone name calling me so if someone says "The Hype is home to some of the biggest a-holes I have ever met" then I'll be like "Huh, they certainly don't mean me" and pay them no mind.
Rowan
is that you?
Agree. I give it 2/10 though. The film had potential but it's just dreck. A waste of time and money.

Man, I wish I could just discuss this movie I really enjoyed.
Rowan sat around and talked to himself alot. God, that's horrifying. But it's okay, Paul. I liked Spy. This movie was garbage though, Paul.![]()
I really liked the visual elements that look like they were inspired by The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters. Especially ghost and gadget designs.
It's sad too, because the idea of Rowan has great potential. An anti-Ghostbuster...inspired by their work and research, and who took it in an evil direction. He was also picked on and treated like an outsider by the world, but went the opposite way in life.

I am also black, so congrats on both of us being wrong to a fashion
and as for your #3 - so a female team needs to prostrate before its male predecessors to be considered worthy?
