It wasn't meant to be an argument. All I'm saying is that SOME (NOT MOST and NOT ALL) of those positive and middle ground reviews MIGHT (as in "NOT OUT OF THE REALM OF POSIBILITY") be because the reviewers don't want to be labeled sexist and/or because they want to push their own social/political views.

If it doesn't, I can't see how they'll spin this as anything other than a bomb, since they invested at least $144M on budget plus $100M on advertising. I'm betting on $250-300 WW at best, wich is a bomb too.I bet this doesnt make more than 200 million worldwide...

.There is a little more to it tough. At least Disney didn't pubicly offer money to critics, while the official stance of the producers of GB from day one was "critics are from trolls that hate women".To me there's about enough proof to support this as Disney paying off critics to write bad Batman v Superman reviews. Meaning there is none.

eh, I felt that way initially, but it would have been validating all the wimmen hating man babies out there that this new film had to kneel before its predecessor to get approval
BULLCRAP. It would have easily added to and expanded he GB franchise and mythos in a positive way. Also, as one of the video links that I posted up has shown, the whole "women hating" thing was a load of BS spin created by Sony. Which, of course, is not to say that there aren't those male fans out there who hate this movie SOLELY because the team is made up entirely of females (those sexist haters do exist).
I think this movie appeals to a different demographic than Feig's previous work, that's why I think those multipliers won't apply (a movie like Star Trek or Bourne wouldn't be competition for Bridesmaids, or even the Heat or other McCarthy movies, GB would like be treated as any other blockbusters)Just for the sake of comparision, Feig's highest movie is Bridesmaids with 288 million and the lowest is The Heat with 229, if this makes less than The Heat, it would be absolutely be a huge failure.
And idk if he was joking but Feig himself said the movie needed 500 million to succeed.

You're still going on with this one, huh?![]()

They was a report of Ghostbusters toys on clearance already, prior to the movie openingI wonder how the toys/merchandise are selling for GB16

So what you're saying is that the sexist troll angle was entirely made up by Sony, even though you're also saying that there are sexist trolls who hate the movie because there are women in it too.
And you're wondering why you're having a hard time getting your point across?
I really hope this movie doesnt make it. But it already gross 65 milion worlwide. Need some praying to do.
No, I'm saying that Sony spinning and painting MOST (if not ALL) of the people hating on this film as sexist trolls was a load of BS spin. While at the same time, I was also acknowledging that there are male fans out there who hated on this movie SOLELY because the entire GB team was entirely made up of women. However, those sexist male haters were in the minority, not the majority.
From a few weeks ago, at Toys r us and TargetIf that's true then...

I guess GB was just one of those franchises that shouldve stayed dead. I think there was potential in rebooting/continuing the franchise but I guess other's don't feel the same
