I'm sure the studio knows they have a turkey in their hands. This is reminding me of Fant4stic and their "promotion".

Yea, we're still 6 months out and have seen way more proof the movie exists than we did from F4 at this point.

We're still months away, so there's no rush right now. I'm sure it'll start ramping up in the next 3 months from now.

It seems that Fox's last FF is now the go to reference to "prove" something is going to be a flop.

Probably because it was the last movie that was criticized this heavily from its inception and it was obvious that the few amount of supporters here were a good litmus test for the general public's willingness to support at the box office.

Also, because it was the last time the cast/crew was as annoying and openly belligerent towards the social media detractors and those who were turned off from the casting.

A lot of parallels really

Because they have no reason to be belligerent.

I flew two 9 hour flights in the past 3 weeks, F4 was available for free. I just didn't or couldn't be bothered to watch it.
I felt that i already knew what i was going to see, on top of the slating from production people etc i just didn't want to be bored with a dark, saturated non relevant movie.

sure, it may have been amazing and i could have loved it, but i just didn't bother.

I chose to watch Vacation, Tagadela nights, Die Hard, 20 mins of that Merly Streep as a lead singer from a rock band film and the man from uncle as a comparison.

This film, it could and can be great, but Feig and his comments are annoying me and the sexist debate is doing my head in.

If Bay had rebooted the Turtles as female, had them living in a tree house and ignored splinter and april, i would have been pissed, not because i am sexist, but that's just a change. Sure, i could have handled 5 turtles or even 6, with the originals and then female leads, which is what i had hoped this would be, but i just feel these forums are platforms for 'slactivisits' to make out they care or know more than others on current political ideas.

Anyways, those toys are cool, they remind me of the original toys and i just wished they and two blokes involved.

Because they have no reason to be belligerent.

right?

having vitriol and personal attacks en masse thrown at the director and the stars, I like that Feig seems to have instructed everyone to go on the offense

im hoping, once the push season starts, where everyone is doing interviews that if any "journalists" decide to have an attitude, they get a surprise

Because they have no reason to be belligerent.

I mean sure they have reason to but plenty of fanboys are vocal online about how much they don't like x,y,z decisions but you don't see the cast and crew often being so unprofessional about 'shooting back' at detractors.

Look how it worked out for Trank and the FF crew. Now the people who were so vocal about dogging their film pre-release can sit back and laugh at them while the FF crew look really bad and had egg on their face. In Trank's case, it had a really bad effect on his career moving forward.

I don't think its 'unprofessional' at all, I think fans have this entitled attitude because there is this perception that if you clap back at criticism you are being unprofessional

like they are supposed to just sit there and take it

I think when someone decides to call Kate McKinnon a "dyke b***h" and she addresses it in an interview, I am all for that

It becomes unprofessional when a studio, not yourself, is funding a significant investment that has yet to have returns on it and even the director feels the need to snipe back at the people you are hoping to pay the studio back for their investment.

Look how much more ridiculous Josh Trank looks that not only do you make a bad movie which gets poor return but his online outbursts have helped harm his career opportunities for other big projects.

People make bad movies all the time that were ridiculed before bombing but now if this movie bombs, the cast and crew, specially the director looks like even more of a fool for failing to stay off Twitter.

It could in turn hurt his career which is, um, unprofessional seeing as making movies is his profession

This cyber bullying stuff needs to go away. It's perfectly fine to dislike something, but when people get so offensive about a movie it baffles me beyond belief.

i have no interest in this movie and everything i find out this movie really annoys me as someone who grew up with the original movies, cartoons and video games.

I think if you complain about an all female team you will get called sexist or have the feminists on your back but it has always felt like a pointless marketing gimmick to me since if you are gonna remake ghostbusters then do it but don't use the gender of the ghostbusters team as an excuse
to do it especially when its not in the same universe as the original and you are still gonna use every bit of nostalgia from the original movie to help get people in seats

And these toys... whose are they aimed at? boys or girls? are they trying to replicate the success of the original movie with kids?

But saying that this film will do fine at the box office purely on curiosity and nostalgia and then they will make a sequel which will be the real test

lol
Trank's online outbursts had NOTHING to do with his career options. Acting out online is nothing compared to what is said to have happened on set. THAT is why people will likely not want to work with him.

I think longtime fans of the franchise, a lot of them are already alienated from paying to go. The studio lost ticket sales with a big portion of people who may have went for nostalgic reasons.

The built in crowd for this movie will probably be more of the people who goes to see Melissa McCarthy movies or fans of Kristen Wiig and comedy movies in general.

I don't see longtime fans of GB feeling magnetized to go see this just because it's technically a Ghostbusters movie

Umm so you think him throwing the studio under the bus in a public forum like a sour puss went unnoticed to other studios like Disney who were planning on working with him. Ok.

You think it's insignificant to blame a studio for the movie's crappiness knowing that the ego execs tend to have in power hungry studios?

Yes, I do think when it became evident on set that he was not able to handle big movies, it limited his options. He lost Star Wars well before he started blaming Fox for the movie.

Ok. I don't have those details on total recall so I'll take your word for it.

Ironically, Wiig's toy figure has a man face.

Melissa McCarthy looks like fat Professor Trelawney.

Jones looks like . . . a dark version of Slimer :sly:

Nothing stands out about the lesbian looking one

Congrats. You have shown why the haters should not be taken seriously and shown your true colors.More of the haters will follow suit as the release date approaches, I'm sure.

You sound like such an *******. Way to go.

Geez y'all really come out ready to be offended over easily. That's where we've come as a society and an internet population, one can't even playfully bust on the likeness of a toy anymore? Even abstract likenesses are seen as hate speech now?

C'mon tell me the black woman's unfortunate toy face doesn't kinda look like Slimer a little.
