It's a completely different slate with all new characters. Not a continuation. Also, don't expect to see Slimer or Stay-Puft. Or Gozer. Or anything from the originals aside from re-designed proton packs and the no-ghost logo.

That is not in keeping with what we all know and love from ghostbusters.... and leslie.. wearing a ghostbusters badge doesn't make you a ghostbuster.

I don't like that idea. You don't want to spend a whole movie establishing this new team is capable to bust ghosts only to be saved in the end by the team everyone wanted to really see. That would be like Creed training the whole movie and then in the last round Rocky steps in and wins the fight for him.

Best thing to do during criticism is 1. tell everybody not to worry and give it a chance or 2. silence. Her, Tom Rothman, and Feig shouldn't resort to blasting the core fanbase because they look unfavorable on a total reboot/remake of a film franchise they love. This is going to be one of the most hated movies in 2016, no in-between.

I just want to see the trailer at this point. I'd be shocked if they decided to use the original GB theme. Maybe it'll pop up on the radio in a quick scene and the ladies look at one another before turning it off or changing the station with a giggle.

I watched the originals as a kid and all, but I can just go and rewatch them if I want to see the same thing. Not saying doing anything different is instant success, but I don't like it when a franchise takes the exact same threat from an earlier entry and rehashes it without any added thematic relevance other than nostalgia.

There's plenty more real-world mythology that would be interesting to see in a GB movie. Like Samhain and the Wild Hunt.

You do not nee Slimer, Stay-Puft, or Gozer for the movie to be a continuation. Slimer was a cameo in GB2, and the latter two were slight references.

Maybe not a large group, but a lot of people definitely wanted a continuation, and the video wasn't the continuation movie lovers wanted.

Well the majority of the criticism is sexist. And 100% of the criticism of Human Torch pre-release of F4 was racism.

Great posters but it's a really shame that this isn't a proper Ghostbusters movie and canon. You guys know what I mean. I think they wasted a great opportunity to bring the series back. This could have been something really big.
