Posters are great! Definitely excited for this. Might be looking forward to this the most next year.

Mckinnons character is gonna steal the show in promoting. She easily looks to be the standout.
Yeah, I was already expecting her to be the standout just because she's my favorite of the bunch, but everything we've seen of her just further validates that expectation for me.

New posters look terrible. In fact everything looks terrible.

"Who you gonna call" Just gonna go ahead and finish ripping off the rest, huh?

This isn't a sequel, or a continuation of the franchise, they claim they want to make it their own thing, but so far nothing has been original.

Everything has been terrible from the start, from the cast, to the Orange is the New Black jumsuits, to the lame attempt at publicity by having the cast visit the children's hospital to ripping off everything from the original.

I'm inclined to believe that there is nothing they could show you that would get you to like anything about this film.

I'm as skeptical as the next guy about this movie but even I'll say that I think these teaser posters are pretty nice.

The posters are pretty nice looking
they're just derivative and uninspired, like black and white knockoffs of the original Thor posters

Say what you will about Jason thats fine. But the idea that other actors can't play the original characters is totally bogus.

Agree.

Since this is a reimagining and not a sequel it's just insane to think that they will not be bringing in familiar things be it characters and ghosts at some point. It may be 3 or even 10 years but eventually they are gonna want to give an update to the franchises more known creatures and elements just like every other IP.

It could be in the form of a spin off or a new animated project but there is no way this franchise is gonna be completely free of that when they still make money selling original Ghostbusters, Slimer and Stay Puft toys plus comics and collectibles. They want this franchise to make them money on a ****load of merchandise and an expanded universe as much as possible. Alienating fans and cutting off characters will only get them so far. They want everyones money.

I'm going to keep an open mind on this. I don't really see any movies on opening weekend anymore, so I'll be seeing what the buzz is first. If most of the reviews say this movie is garbage, then I won't see it, but if what I read leans towards the positive, I will likely be seeing it eventually during its theatrical run.

It's not a re-imagining.

How so? It's not a remake, and while it's rebooting the franchise it's also taking creative license with cutting out essential establishing characters and changing the originals mythology.

Haha I was hoping for something along the lines of cause this is secretly still connected to the previous films.

It's a revival if anything.

It's not re-imagining or re-inventing anything from the original, it's continuing the story of the Ghostbusters company from a different team in perspective and time.

It's not cutting out essential established characters, it's just not using them; partially because one of the original 4 has passed, and another has been difficult non-stop throughout the years to continue with the original 4. The other 2 have been open to a follow up story from the get go, and they got one in a video game, as well as the one who passed away.
You want to be mad about the original 4 characters not being used, the only person you're to be mad at is Bill Murray, and no one else. Not the studio, not the original actors, not the new actors. You are not getting what you want simply because of Bill Murray's attitude.

Where has it been said or reported that it's changing anything in the originals? Because I've seen nothing to suggest that idea at all.

And the less you quote uber-religious bigots, the better.

There's been plenty of leaked info and word from Feig himself that this does not take place in the universe. This is not a continuation or GB3.

Unless your assuming that's a ruse I'm not quite following your logic here.

I think they should "retire" certain franchises the way they do athlete's numbers

anything that cannot conceivably be improved upon, should be left alone
Zemeckis agrees, that's why we will thankfully be spared a BTTF remake, at least until he dies

I agree with Murray on GB, because he didn't think they could recapture the magic
and the solution should not be, "well f**k it, reboot the thing then"

but, it's all about that money, so we get this sorta crap in response
and the worst part is, it will make them a s***-ton of money

Ah. Honestly, I don't believe anything saying this is not in the same universe as the original movies.

I agree. Assuming that it's not has been my only main issue with this film and what led to my pov on original characters coming into play or being casted with younger actors.

Keep forgetting that Drew Pearce mentioned that the script for the other film did allow him to connect everything.

Oh, it isn't a reboot? I thought Paul Feig said as much it is in his interviews.

"Who you gonna call".

Yes, they're crappy like all modern posters. Boring stuff. Remember the time when movie posters were pieces of art (or when art itself was art)? It should be a law against photoshopped posters.

Learn how to paint or get another job.

I think best way to fight forum fascists is to ignore them. Maybe some day they'll see the error of their ways.

If it's something plot oriented I doubt he would say anything or spoil. He's been pretty pissed at the leak photos giving away cameos. The Drew Pearce comments do contradict. Time will tell.
