I really, really fear for this movie..
I think it's going to be a colossal bomb. It just seems like one of those series of movies that just doesn't need to be rebooted, rehashed, updated or touched.
In my opinion I think Ghostbusters is one of those off the moment movies, classics. Those movies will forever be ingrained into the memories of those that saw them as a child, teenager or even adult closer to the time.
I've not even seen any footage or even pictures I don't believe but I already am fearing that it will be one of those movies with a supposedly 'very funny' cast put together, that will just try too damn hard to be funny.. The trailer(s) are going to really have to be good in order for me to even think about going to see it & potentially ruining my childhood.
Michael Bay has already destroyed enough of my childhood.
wow
after reading that, I couldn't want this movie to succeed harder
Believe me when I say, I want this movie to be successful & I want it to be a great movie for all ages.. but sadly what I've read & seen about the movie thus far isn't impressing me.
I don't believe you
not that it matters, but I just wanted to put that out there
If they really wanted to do this, they should have ditched the entire idea of making it Ghostbusters and just done a movie about a female paranormal investigation team with absolutely no connection or references to the 1984 movie. That way they could have done whatever they wanted without worrying about aggravating entitled manchildren
fixed that for you
fixed that for you
If they really wanted to do this, they should have ditched the entire idea of making it Ghostbusters and just done a movie about a female paranormal investigation team with absolutely no connection or references to the 1984 movie. That way they could have done whatever they wanted without worrying about living up to the genius of the original, something they had no hope of matching.
The only things they're using from the first movie are the name and the logo anyway.
They may simply shelve it if it's really that bad.
Kind of hard to buy that a movie featuring several of the funniest women in mainstream comedy made by a well known comedy director isn't funny at all...
Okay, here's ALLEGEDLY what is currently going on with this production:

The link above is just one person, there have been multiple threads on other sites saying the same thing.
Long story short: the studio had a screening and they aren't happy. It's not funny nor scary, they gave Paul Feig total creative control and he wanted to make a horror film with some laughs. He's an R-rated comedy type of guy and this was experimental for him, the studio execs have no idea on how to market this film right now.
Not surprised, this has the same Fant4stic vibes. Sure it may have had a few more bts pics released, but this is a Fant4stic level of disaster on other levels.
