The New Ghostbusters - Part 6

The slime puke scene reminded me of something from Nickelodeon in the early 90s. But I do really like the ghost designs. And the scene of Leslie Jones in the subway with all those blue ghosts turning and looking at her was definitely creepy. Loved the original Slimer design.

But man, I really dislike Jones and McCarthy. Nothing I can do about it now, though. Just have to accept that this is the new GB.

They probably just want you to think that, people who have seen it on this board say otherwise.

I actually liked most of it. But the bits with McKinnon licking the weapon and Leslie Jones trying to unpossess McCarthy did nothing for me.

Sure did for me... and I know I'm barking up the wrong tree.

The ghosts look really good. I like the team that's making the movie so I'm on board.

Hope Venkman is the one responsible for all the ghosts.

i understand that filming in the middle of NY at night would be expensive. but going full CGI new york street like in spiderman 2 is IMO to much. Sony Imageworks will use the same 3d models from amazing spiderman 2 haha.

Since the original cast have cameos playing different roles... probably not

I don't get why they didn't set it in the same universe since they are using the original films nostalgia to bring in the audience anyway

Gotta be honest here. It looks much better than I expected. I'm not completely sold, but Kate McKinnon is the best thing here. She looks like the best character in the film, for sure.

The ghosts did look visually appealing with todays effects but that won't make or break the movie

McKinnon was the only good thing for me. Wiig and McCarthy were flat, and Jones is just a loud stereotype as I feared.

The ghosts look great. Not going to lie, I laughed at the "the power of pain compels you" line. They trailer may not have been the best, but I'm looking forward to it.

Leslie Jones doesn't act like that for most of the movie. In fact I was happy with some of her scenes that aren't the typical stereotypes that you'd expect. The scene when she wants to join them includes a line about how much non-fiction she reads. Her character is warm and kind as well. McKinnon is amazing.

Yeah, same here. It's not bad. But it doesn't look very interesting, either.

that was just not at all funny
I was actually expecting the opposite in the humor department, some over-the-top, modern, obnoxious comedy
but they went the other way with it and didn't include any jokes

My friends daughter is crazy about the original movies(She's like 4 or 5 & she has her own uniform and proton pack!) and she's completely psyched that there's going to be a new movie with female ghostbusters.

That alone makes me happy that this movie exists.
