The New Ghostbusters - Part 6

That's exactly how I feel, it didn't really make me love it or hate it, it just kind of exists. I was hoping the trailer would blow us away.

We all know why this will fail....

Chris Hemsworth is cursed on any movie he doesn't play Thor.

And you managed to completely ignore what I said after that. What a great reply :whatever:

I laughed at the wig/hat joke. Sue me.

I'm been up for this since it was announced but I didn't see anything particularly funny here, which is odd because I liked Bridesmaids and The Heat. They were obviously banking on Leslie Jones getting the big laugh moments but she bombed hard with me here. The effects looked nice though.

I am a huge huge huge fan of the original Ghostbusters. I even love Ghostbusters 2. I think this looks great, but then again, I'm not predisposed to hate Wiig, McCarthy, or Feig.

I keep seeing "this doesn't look like the humor or the tone of the old Ghostbusters. Well, it isn't. This isn't the old Ghostbusters. They mention them in the beginning of the trailer because duh, You can't make a new movie and not mention the old one that's regarded as a classic. That's just dumb.

The effects look amazing. We didn't get a huge look at the humor and stuff, but this was only 2 minutes-ish of the movie. And it looks awesome. I am very excited to see this, because more Ghostbusters! If it sucks, it sucks and I was wrong. Whatever.

I guess the one thing we all agree on is that the visuals look good. Everything else is just sorta...honestly I'm not really sure what think about this.

Even as someone who is in for this, I can admit that that wasn't a really good trailer.

There was nothing in the trailer to make me not want to watch it. That's about the best I can say about it.

Great post. It seems many fans made up their minds months ago when the cast was announced, but it's good there are open minded people ready to give it a chance. I wouldn't normally care about how people perceive these projects, but this one has had so much unnecessary hate and sexism against it, I would like to see it succeed.

I didn't hate it...I don't now if I liked it much...but I didn't hate it. It actually got me a little excited off and on, so that is a plus. I don't really know what else to say... guess I will see it see how goes from there.

Why are people thinking capturing the tone of Ghostbsuters is impossible? "This Is The End" blended elements of horror and comedy pretty well for modern times and Id argue that's the closest we have got to something similar to Ghostbusters.

None of the jokes worked for me at all, outside of the “is it the hat?” scene. Still, the movie looks fun and there’s no doubt that love of the original movies fuels this. I’m really liking how they’re handling the ghost SFX. It’s a great update to the originals in that regard.

I thought the trailer was pretty decent, but I'll be really pissed off if the reverence to the original is just for the trailer and has nothing to do with the movie, because that's just false advertising then.

I guess we have to understand this is not a pure comedy, it is an action-adventure comedy, so the trailer needs to reflect that. It's like Mystery Men I guess (which was a career-killing bomb but still a movie I really like).

I hope there will be a scene in the movie where something supernatural isn't represented by something CGI, like in this scene.

The 30 years ago beginning is deceptive since we know this isn't a sequel.

There were some good stuff like McKinnon. The FX look good as well as the packs.

McCarthy was fine til the end. The "that's going to leave a mark" line seems like a joke she's used before in another movie. And I'm not sold on Wiig.

This is really going to come down to if the reviews are good.

Its not required to "reference a classic" especially when this iteration is not attached to it in any way, its just there for forced nostalgia sake and it didn't work. In fact it may of hurt the trailer overall because of how shoehorned in it was.

Looks fun. The ghosts looked rad and I still like the cast. Don't really understand the hate, but to each their own.

Just as a clarifying FYI, every ghost in this film was played by a live-action performer wearing an LED suit and interacting directly with the lead actors.

Even Slimer. Which looks bizarre when the shots are unfinished.

At this point I see more people on the fence about it than outright hating it, which I guess is somewhat of an improvement compared to the venomous hate that's been being spewed by fanboys the past few months.

The ghost parade floats are 100% CGI, as is The villain's final form. Hell, most of the finale will be heavy CGI. So much green screen.

This looks so WTF! McKinnon looks to be the only one worth watching

that last exorcist bit :csad:

Welp - that was somewhat of a letdown, but not unexpected. The lines seemed really forced. the ghosts looked cool though.
