Why do you keep saying "godlike"? One Bullet and she's gone.
Up to her first fight against Magneto,.. who had she encountered that required her to stretch her powers beyond what she already knew?

Doesn't she take pains not to kill unnessesarily? how would she know how hard to push a Magneto?

What she would NEED to do IMHO is get with Wakanda technical department,.. or better yet Reed Richards to tack down and explore exactly what her powerset is.

Well if she can take mags at full tilt and mags can destroy the world at full tilt, planet distruction is pretty god like. If she can control all energy form's that's pretty god like. Phobos is the god of fear and he can be capped in the head as well, durability isn't necessarily an indicator of power.

If her energy manipulation is the levels you believe them to be she could snap her fingers and just take away his power without hurting him in the least. That is a far easier trick for an energy manipulator than something as complex and multilayered as altering multiple factors at the same time to create a weather abnormality of the exact size and type of your wish.

What she needs is writers that don't think more power equals a better character.

We keep bumping against the same thing:
How could she just "snap her fingers" and take away magnetos powers?
The great thing about the character is that she learns,...

Anology time: Say you are a damn good builder - you have made wooden and pebble dams once you realized that was what you could do. These dams were as needed and rarely went more than 15 yards across. One day you come across a place to build a dam that is over a mile across -
Where do you start?
What materials do you use? You KNOW that what you've used before would be literely a splash with ripples.

Just because she can see the power of Mags moving metal,.. and based on canon she has never faced a being that used lines of force to move metal, make force fields and fly like he does. Up to this point she has not tried to negate gravity, magnetics or interfere with anything outside of the weather effects SHE LEARNED ON THE PLAINS OF AFRICA!

You keep equating high power levels with an inate ability to use them.

Look @ Franklin Richards - he is supposed to at one point able to create alternate REALITIES as ONE of his god-like powers - you don't see him taking care of the FF's light work? Heck - he was killed in "days of Future past" by a sentinel.

Just because you have the potential doesn't mean you have the ability,.. esp when you have to learn how first.

I'm not a Storm fan,.. I'm a comic fan,.. I could do this with any of the characters i follow regularly,... Like I said earlier,..I have a list of characters who only use a portion of their powersets ON PURPOSE for different reasons.

Peace.

When the Hulk - Thor - Iron man Avengers Team existed during the early days, did they know each other's secret identities?

The Hulk/Thor/Iron Man Avengers team only existed for about 2 issues. The Hulk was gone by #3, I think.

The Avengers didn't know each other's secret identities for a long time. I remember an issue from the '70s, I think, where only Iron Man knew Thor's secret identity and covered for him when he reverted to Don Blake in a fight so he had time to get his cane and turn back into Thor.

Oh i see... i picked up Iron Man: Armor Wars... and the avengers seemed to know that Tony was Iron man...

Gotta buy some Avengers Masterworks someday.. but they are too expensive!

Oh, the current Armor Wars series are out of continuity. One's in the Ultimate universe, the other is (I think) in the Marvel Adventures universe.

You could always go for the Essential Avengers, so long as you don't mind missing the coloring.

That's why I don't care if Hulk is in the Avengers movie.

Me either. Although, if they're gonna go ahead and make the movie basically about the 616 founders + Cap, I'm cool with it. Cap, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Ant-Man, and Wasp are a good cast. I hope they throw some other mainstays like the Vision and Hawkeye in, though.

ill be happy if they don't waste their time making an Ant-Man solo movie. i feel the same way about Magneto, Deadpool, and Wolverine but they won't listen to reason.

I'll watch pretty much any movie Marvel wants to make. Ant-Man's a perfectly good character, so I wouldn't consider it a waste of time at all.

ehh. i never really cared for him. i feel he can be serviced better in an Avengers movie, than trying to make a 2-hr solo movie about a hero who grows and talks to bugs.

but yea ive seen every thing Marvel's put out in theaters so ill be in that auditorium either way. :oldrazz:

He's definitely better with the Avengers, but he did have solo comics back in the day. I'm mostly curious about whether they'll include the Wasp. I could see them doing a cool Nick and Norah Charles-style take on them as a superhero couple.

i definitely feel Wasp is needed with anything Ant-Man related. they go together like Lois and Clark, Peter and MJ, Scott and Jean (though finally Scott's redefined himself). just stay away from the whole wife-beating angle....at least for a while.

I agree, but I get the feeling they're going to include that. Everyone tends to fixate on it.

He was still in the comic in #2, fighting the Avengers alongside Namor, and he was still technically a member for like 2 pages right at the beginning of the issue. I think #3 was the first issue he was completely out of the series.

You're probably right. You're better at this stuff than I am.

so I asked a question about the Vision, and skeedaddled over to wikipedia to read up on him. and I found out that Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis did a four issue mini on him late 2002/early 2003. so they'd worked together before doing Green Lantern. I didn't know that.

Yeah, they further tied his origins to the original Human Torch after Busiek introduced that retcon in Avengers Forever.

Err... when i said Iron Man Armor Wars, its actually a trade that collects Iron Man 225-232.
Anyway, it seems like Iron man and Captain America werent such good friends... =\
