F**k John Stewart, he's never been an interesting character. Except when he was paralyzed and a sort of advisor to Kyle Rayner...

And what role is Jennifer Connelly playing in the Avengers? I missed that one...

If the movie is going to stand apart of the other DC/Warner movies, they should follow X-Men: First Class' model and adapt Justice League: The New Frontier.

Superman- Tom Welling, both deserve it...

Hell no.

Welling for Superman is OVER. Not that it ever had much of a chance to begin with.

He doesn't want to wear the suit, we know that now. They had to use cartoony CGI and paste his head on, for the finale of Smallville.

He never wore the tights and never properly played Superman. He's out.

Nothing from Smallville will be carried into this, mark my words. The JLA movie won't sink that low.

And in the final shirt-rip scene, he wore a T-Shirt as per Ksite. You could see the sleeves in HD.

Wow. I would think it would be an actor playing Clark Kent's dream to put on the suit. Are you sure it was Welling, I mean are you sure DCE didnt want to have Welling in the full suit because of Man of Steel

Brian and Kelly (the producers) confirmed there were NO restrictions this time from WB/DCE regarding Superman and the suit.


All the blame is Tom Welling's. He is against wearing the suit and playing Superman.


This is old news, but now the truth is definitively out there. I swear he was only on the show for the money and doesn't care about Superman or playing him.

Many people associate GL with John Stewart, If WB wants to have Hal Jordan in the JL movie, I would be fine with it, maybe they can accommodate both Hal and John in the movie, I think that John Stewart has a good chance to be a part of JL because he is next popular GL after Hal Jordan and the fact that he brings ethnic diversity to the group.

I mistakenly referred to Connelly, I wanted to say Cobie Sumlders is in Avengers, she was also a fan favorite contender for WW.

A late 1970s Justice League, right after Star Wars, could have been interesting.
In this alternate universe, I take away Reeve's Superman franchise and let Burt Reynolds play the man of steel in this superhero team movie.
Clint Eastwood for Batman perhaps, but then they had to make him look shorter than Supes (Clint is taller than Burt).
Roger Moore for Aquaman, he still looked young enough back then. I guess he could portray a noble king very well, and even have a somewhat badass attitude to him. If not him, then Michael Caine. And if the idea of a non-american sounds bad, then Robert Redford.
Telly Savalas as Martian Manhunter? Perhaps.
Not any new suggestion for Green Lantern, but I actually think David Niven could be Sinestro.

This is why he was in the Justice League cartoon, and the reason he would be GL in a JLA movie...

I highly doubt they (the filmmakers) would be highlighting what makes him unique... The fact that he's an architect, very thorough on the inner workings of the things he creates, and his will powered constructs would be presented as such? No, he's gonna be the guy that says "DAMN" and "BRING IT", and be a generally badass mofo...

Sorry if I sound racist, I'm merely speaking for the way Hollywood tends to present certain stereotypes...

Sad but true, I hope they don't do that with Stewart but they probably will.

When I think Martian Manhunter, I think Peter Mensah (he got kicked down a well in 300). He's got a really cool voice similar to MM from the JL cartoon, he's big, and his facial features would work well for the character. Also, he'd bring some of that needed diversity to the cast.
