The New X-Force

Yup. They even allow a fifteen minute break once a week for their employees. It's kinda awesome now.

And all without the help of those nosey "labor unions." See? Who says unions are necessary to protect the last fading remnants of workers' protections?

That preview looks tight, and I had zero interest in that book. I may reconsider.

Still looks like ****, the premise at least, as far as I'm concerned.

Other than Scott's new thirst for blood, it's something that should have happened like 40 years ago. If the Government isn't going to do anything to protect mutants and the kids in the school, someone has to.

I hate unions when they have too much power. I mean, look at the WGA, they totally made them cancel the Golden Globes and now I won't be able to see the latest in fashion.

That's what comes of letting writers think they're necessary to the creative process.

They kind of are, the ironic thing is, once they bang out this deal, they go back to being the peons and yelling boards of the industry. I think gaffers are more respected than writers.

I don't mind a black ops type X-Men team. It was sorely needed. Just the way this team has come about seems ridiculous to me.

Meh, I agree with Scott's justification 100% in that preview.

I agree with it, I just don't like that Scott made it. That kind of precludes him from spouting moral high ground stuff anymore, which means no more fun moments like in AXM where he's all, "X-Men don't shoot people, lolz!" Because now X-Men are sanctioned to stab people in the face, which is just as bad. I would've probably been a lot more comfortable with it if Xavier set up and sanctioned X-Force, since he's already tainted.

Dude, where have you been? X-Men don't stab people in the face because these aren't the X-Men. :o

The "X-Men don't kill" thing has always had an "except for Wolverine" clause. They're just bending the rules a bit by adding three backup Wolverines.

Semantics. :o

Seriously, though, wouldn't it make more sense for Chuck Xavier to do this, since 1) he's done exactly this before, 2) he's licking his wounds over no longer being relevant, and 3) he's apparently the most evil, manipulative bastard in the world as of DG? I think it would've been a cool way to bring Xavier back to the fore, put him more in direct conflict with Scott, and make him badass again all at once.

I'm talking from an in-universe perspective. They're sanctioned by Scott and, so they're basically an X-Men sub-team. Granted, the way Scott's being secretive about it even to Emma, he's probably setting up some plausible deniability, even though every single one of the X-Forcers have been allied with the X-Men or X-Men outright. He'll probably just say those *****es went rogue. I just think it might've created a more interesting dynamic if Xavier did it.

You says they didn't? We don't know how X-Force was formed. All we know is that Scott knows about them, and that he doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

Don't forget Piotr. He kills people, too.

That's different, he was taking advantage of the "X-men don't kill people, except for any particular time an X-Man kills people" exception.

Two totally different things.

No, we know from that preview that Scott actively participated in the re-formation of X-Force. He tells Wolverine to put the team back together and kill Risman and his Purifiers.

Right. He tells Logan to his people together. That doesn't mean he founded them. That just means he's got a job for them. When a guy hires a hitman, does that mean he participated in the creation of that hitman?
