That would be pretty cool, I would feel bad for Dylan but as long as a kid is not cast then I will be very happy :D

Hey, do you guys mind telling me what happened today? Any news? :yay:
There are like 20 new pages from the last time that I was on here hehehe

I'm starting to warm up to the shortlist. Liam and Tom wouldn't be that bad, guys. I would have loved for Dylan to get the role, but if Marvel chooses one of these guys,(preferable Asa, Chalamet or Natt) I'll trust them.

#InMarvelWeTrust

Thanks ;)

So, Nat Wolff? Seriously? I've only seen 2 movies that he was in and based on those two I don't think that he embodies Peter Parker.

The other ones look way too young...(and maybe i'm saying this because I'm still rooting for Dylan )

Peter Parker is going to be 15-16. He's supposed to look young, that's the whole point.

As far as I know, and I follow pop culture pretty well, Dylan O' Brien hasn't been in contention for Spider-Man. He was never been reported by the trades, nor have I heard of any weighty rumors about him being in the running. It's just that his fans (and some people) want him to be Peter Parker. I'll admit that I like the guy and he would be a great fit, but this becoming a self fulfilling prophecy.

Technically his and Lerman's names were the first we heard back in Feb, just after the deal was made.

Oddly enough, their names were NEVER mentioned on the Sony leaks emails as been in contention for the role, and I'm seriously starting to think that Variety fell for a reddit hoax. I seriously believe that neither O'Brien or Lerman were never seriously in contention for Spider-Man.

Why in the world would Variety turn to reddit instead of their sources on that? No names were mentioned in the emails because most of the emails weren't even written when the deal was done

Because other than Variety, NO OTHER trade has said anything about Dylan O'Brien or Logan Lerman been in contention. Because Marvel is adamant from the start that they were going with a kid to play a 15-16 year old, and neither Lerman or O'Brien fit on that. Because no one else has heard of them ever been in contention for the part. O'Brien situation at this point is not very different than the Donald Glover situation back before The Amazing Spider-Man casting. I believe he'll get to play Spider-Man but in animation though.

A number of actors already have been mentioned as being considered for the role, including “The Maze Runner” and “Teen Wolf’s” Dylan O’Brien and the “Percy Jackson” franchise’s Logan Lerman. Lerman most recently co-starred in Sony’s “Fury.”

In Variety's defense, I don't think this quote implies that Sony has ever said that they were going with these actors, only that they have been mentioned as being considered, and they were, but just on reddit and rumor websited. Neither Lerman or O'Brien fit what Marvel is going for, so I'd argue that they were never been considered not because they don't like them, but because they simply don't fit what they are going for, which is actors that can play a 15-16 year old Peter Parker.

There is a month in between the reddit thread and the variety article. But whatever it's not like we'll ever agree with each other. Im an unstoppable force and youre an immovable object

What reddit thread? That Dylan O'Brien is Spider-Man non-sense? No I'm talking about the previous December posts from redditleaker23456. I'm starting to believe that that troll greatest achievement was troll his fake hoax into a Variety article as something remotely legit.

So, here's my opinion on that shortlist:

- Timothée Chamalet:
Timothee+Chalamet+Adderall+Diaries+Premiere+fEbyyCEiz8Wl.jpg

Age: 19-20
Saw in:
Interstellar, Men Women and Children ...
Out of the 4 other actors, he is the only one who gives me a Peter Parker vibe. He's got the charm, the look.

-Natt Wolff:

Age: 20
Saw in
: The Fault in our stars, Stuck in love ...
Here is the actor Vincent D'onofrio, alias Wilson Fisk(Daredevil), wants for Peter Parker.
(Personnaly, he may be a great actor, but I don't understand how he can be on that list and not O'Brien ... Seriously, WTF? He looks way much older than Dylan.)

- Asa Butterfield :

Age: 18
Saw in: Ender's game, Hugo Cabret ...
Here is Spider-Kid. No, seriously what's going on? I'm sorry.

- Tom Holland:

Age: 18
Saw in: In the heart of the sea, The impossible ...
Are they trying to cast Jamie Bell's brother as Spider-Man? ... Peter Parker,,really?? Please, no. NO.

- Liam James:

Age: 18
Saw in:
The Way way back, The Killing ...
Defenetly a no for me. He doesn't look the part and gives me a Tobey Maguire vibe, which I don't like. No.

So here is my pick(If I really have to choose): Dylan O'Brien Timothée Chamalet

none of these guys feel the part to me and nothing is clicking
but I trust marvel I just have a feeling the real casting choice will be one that came out of no where

James was great in the Way, Way Back and he's played a Young Vince Vaughn and a young James Roday. You have to have some comedic talent if you're cast as two younger versions of comedic actors.

man will people get over o'brien. i don't understand how the fanbase became so obsessed with this.

out of those, Chamalet is a no-brainer for me. He was actually my #1 before this shortlist came out

I have to say that short list sucks. I hate everyone on it.

I am disappoint Marvel and Sony...
