You have to see how the person does in the role before judging them. Heath Ledger taught me that.
Wow this is awful!
I'm ambivalent. I feel like they need a RDJ-equivalent, and I'm not sure anyone like that even exists for spider-man. Maybe an unknown.. somewhere.. out there.. beneath the pale moonlight..
As far as I know, and I follow pop culture pretty well, Dylan O' Brien hasn't been in contention for Spider-Man. He was never been reported by the trades, nor have I heard of any weighty rumors about him being in the running. It's just that his fans (and some people) want him to be Peter Parker. I'll admit that I like the guy and he would be a great fit, but this becoming a self fulfilling prophecy.

Many of those guys look so old, if Marvel is excluding a lot of those more talented and better fitting actors because of their age, then this short list makes no sense
Because it's not a shortlist. It's just five names he said he's heard consistently.

I never got what was so wrong with Heath Ledger when he was picked for Joker

In that case we can't discuss anything until the movie is out.
As of right now, I just can't picture any of those guys as Peter Parker. I have reasons enough to feel doubt about this film if any of those are cast.

I've seen only snippets of some of them but I've seen enough of Asa to think he will be brilliant in the role. Not just good, brilliant. I think if he nails the audition the role is his because he ticks a lot of box and there is general audience recognition with his role in Hugo.

Serious, that list is disappointing. How is O'Brien not on that list? With a list like that I would rather they keep Andrew Garfield, which is what they should've done anyway.
yeah but to me that's not saying muchAsa is the best of the bunch.
