If anything, Wolff retweeting Vincent means that he's NOT in consideration for the role, cuz Marvel always tell their actors to denial everything.

Things seem to have got ridiculous in here. Are we actually reporting people for having a negative opinion of someone who can be quite unpleasant on Twitter when he wants to be?
Still hoping for Dylan and I see that Nat Wolff has retweeted that tweet from Vincent suggesting he would make a great Spider-Man. Guess that counts him out now. :cwink:

It really is ridiculous. But hey, love makes people irrational, right?

Thank you.
I'm not asking for a dweeb by any means, but I don't want a model-esque Peter Parker either -- especially at 15/16.

Asa would be the right choice in that regard, as for other reasons as well.

That's BS, good looking people could get bullied.

FFS, does everything have to be in Dylan's favour?

I'm not talking about the general audience. I'm talking about rumoured names, speculation, acting résumé etc.

O'Brien is NOT an unknown. Far from it. Look at the amount of Twitter followers he has anyway if you want to keep taking about the general audience.
Well, sorry because I was talking about the general audience, to them Dylan O'Brien is an unknown.. hell, most of the users on here haven't even heard about him until a few months ago.

And to be honest, who the heck cares if the actor is an unknown or not? all that matters is if he fits the role.

That is true. First off, they might not even know they are good looking but might have a poor self image. Also, if they lack confidence, then even if they are physically attractive, girls might not be attracted to them, especially if they have nerdy interests and seem rather weird and like a loner. So that would just add to the poor self esteem and reinforce the idea in Peter's head that he isn't good looking, even though in reality he could be.

And then there's peer pressure too. If Flash is already established as the school jock and the popular kid, then if he feels threatened in some way by the presence of Peter Parker and wants to make his life difficult, everyone is going to side with Flash and agree with whatever he says about Peter, even if some don't actually believe it is true. It takes a lot of strength of character to stand up for what is right.

It's only when Peter gains the confidence as Spider-Man that girls might start looking at him differently, because he's less withdrawn and more sociable, and people can actually see his physical appearance in a new light. And with more self acceptance, he also does become more attractive. If before, he thinks he's someone that no-one wants to date, then who are they to disagree with him? But once he starts seeing himself as eligible, then the girls might give him a chance. It's the same way in real life.

And doesn't SHH's favorite show ever SSM have a handsome Peter that gets bullied? He's just dorky as **** and that makes him bully fodder

Hey, if Nat can pul off the comedy and nerdiness that is Parker I'm game. He certainly looks the part.

It's a bit hard to tell due to the simplistic animation on the character designs.

He showed support for Nat Wolff as Spider-Man on Twitter, and Nat acknowledged it.

Not sure how that automatically disqualifies one from getting the role, can anyone explain that to me?
what? I never said anything like that.

Peter has mostly been portrayed as charmingly handsome (mind you, not model looking), not only in drawings but also in how girls and women are attracted to him. Making Peter "ugly" just to make him a more believable bully victim (which it wouldn't) would be less true to the comic book material if you ask me.

Natt simply acknowledging D'Onofrio's support for him on Twitter doesn't rule him out for the role.

He's still linking himself to the role in the same way that Mateur Ward did when he retweeted those pictures of himself as spidey and Billy Unger when he instagrammed himself with #spiderman

Which isnt typical behavior of a top contender.. look at Boseman, Rudd and Cumberbatch
