I think some people are a-holes. You think some people are a-holes. Get over it. Just because you've been "deemed worthy" by him doesn't mean you need to take people's opinions about him so personally. Cool down a little.

I think swearing is against the rules here. I'm not "deemed worthy" by anyone other than my fiancé, and I'm fine with that.

And I'm very cool, and what I think should never get in the way into how respectful I am with those that disagree or agree with me. I just think that when the animosity here is worse than one of the worst place in the internet to talk about movies (meaning that website), there's something wrong.

No, it's not true. People keep trying to get credit to those that say what they want to hear, and it's not the first time that people here act like children over Spider-Man news.

We are all free to disagree with whatever we want, but people need to remember to be civil about this. There's a need for at least a barely there level of respect on this board, and people are forgetting about that.

That doesn't mean he isn't valid though, ugh. look, I think the shortlist is legit, I don't necessarily think that that is THE Shortlist, but I think those actors are strong candidates for the role.

I want Dylan for the role more than anyone, but it really annoys me when people try to distinguish ALL of Sneider's credibility based on ONE thing he said.

I never said they weren't legitimate contenders. The issue here is that he wrote the article and titled it as if they were the final five, making people think no on else is in contention.

People having negative opinions about other people is not the end of our world. You're behaving like Sneider is your dad or something.

No, I'm acting like someone with respect for those that give us the news that we discuss here. And if someone is constantly swearing and acting like some are acting against the Hollywood scoopers around here, then I think that people need to be called out on that. I think it's sad to realize that when you look to the Spider-Man board and the CBM comment session, the later comes as the most civil one. That's just wrong in my eyes. Either way, people need to remember that they are in a moderated forum. It's not an "anything goes" forum.

Rumours are just that, rumours. To be accepted or taken with a grain of salt. The is zero reason to get worked up about it and nothing is certain until it is confirmed by the actual film makers. Getting bent out of shape over speculation is a little daft.

Nat Wolff? But he looks just as old as O'Brien, if not older. So what happened to all this talk of Marvel wanting to keep Peter in high school for a trilogy? How do they plan to do that if they have someone who already looks older than O'Brien? And this whole idea of just casting 17-20 year olds seems like a technicality if they're getting someone who doesn't even look within that age range. Why shut out 23 year olds then?

What I will say in Asa's defence is, I have seen pretty much all of Andrew Garfield's movies including his shoe string independents and the only clip of his being funny and charismatic is that clip from Doctor Parnassus (where he mocks Heath Ledger). Several movies and one clip. You can only act what you are given.

You can't blame Asa for only being cast in dramatic roles. Almost certainly Asa's agent will have a 'comedy reel' that can be sent to potential film makers.

It still goes to show that neither his natural personality nor his natural acting personality have humor.

Case of good looking guy getting bullied because..the plot required him to? Oh, that he was a loner? Right, I forgot about how they had that as a character trait only to drop it in the sequel (for good reason, mind you).

This is coming from someone who largely favored Garfield to Maguire as a whole, but just because I do, doesn't mean I won't point out flaws I've noticed.

Asa is 5'10 and skinny. If you get a couple of actors who are 6'1 and built they will tower over him. You can then really sell them picking on him and the audience will buy it. I'm not buying someone picking on DOB, he is tall, good looking and by no means skinny. Bullied? No, not buying that, sorry.

*5'11. At least. He was apparently 5'10 up to 4 years ago... so not sure if even that height is updated. Others have said he is 6 foot. In the end he looks very tall considering his young looking face. His build is tall and skinny, but doesn't seem to have enough thickness. He is PLAIN tall and skinny with little room for muscles to grow.

But Peter wouldn't be bullied as Spider-Man anymore unless he lets them. He was only puny Parker before the spider bite, and this won't be dealing with Peter's origin. Discounting DOB because of his build is like trying to cast Steve Rogers based on his puny polio self which only formed a small section of his story. And here, they're not even doing that part of Peter's story, unless they have it in flashbacks. And in that case, they can have a body double or use the same CGI techniques they did on Chris Evans. Peter needs to have a Spider-Man build now. Asa looks like pre-Spider-Man Peter.

That is also very true. This is post bite. (Hey, from what I have seen Dylan was never bit in TW, maybe he will finally get 'the bite' ) Whoever we get needs to be tall and skinny but also muscly. Peter's Dylan's build is about right. (I actually accidentally wrote Peter instead of Dylan. Just goes to show...) For Asa if he is 6'1 as some have rumored, then it would be hard to get a Flash that's taller. If he isn't he is a fine height, but still doesn't have the little thickness needed. Either way we know that Dylan is at his tallest, he wont grow taller than any Flash Thomson cast who is taller than 5'11. (If Asa really is 6'1, which I doubt he is really that tall... but if he is... Flash. JK. He is way too skinny to ever look like he could even wound a fly if he wanted to. Maybe that also means he can't even be spidey...)

Asa's name is dangerous to type.. my PC is freezing everycou ple seconds and it gets typing all messed up... I've called Asa alot of colorfulw ords on accident. (decided not to edit the messing up of those sentences to show what I mean about my pc messing up my typing. It's mainly that it gets spaces out of order somehow...)
