I don't like Tom Holland. He looks like he could be Jesse Eisenberg's brother. Peter Parker and Lex Luther should not look related.

It has (hopefully) come down to these guys:

I could see it...

:hmr:

Honestly, any choice serious choice ever brought up I could see...

If it really is down to the final two then Marvel will probably give them both a final screen test. Get them to sign NDAs, show them the script and act opposite an MJ/Tony Stark stand in and see who nails Peter AND SPIDER-MAN.

Both actors have gone on record to say they would be up for playing Spider-Man. Tom Holland during an interview a few years back and Asa via Twitter before casting began.

I want Isaac to comment on the fact that a lot of people want him.

Out of Asa Butterfield and Tom Holland, Tom would easily be my pick. He is not as grim-looking as Asa, and he vaguely resembles a young Garfield.

Anyway, I also refer to Dark Raven's post about "getting" Spidey's New York Jewish type of humor.

If someone were to "get" New York Jewish humor, wouldn't that be Logan Lerman, who is Jewish, as opposed to Dylan, who is not? Or is Los Angeles Jewish humor different than New York?

Or Timothée Chalamet, who is Jewish and from New York.

That's good because there are some VERY huge indicators that he is the one. Still would be happy with Asa though.

He seems to be a good actor from what I've heard (haven't actually seen a film of him). He seems confident and laid back so I can easily picture him as a charismatic guy along the rest of the Marvel group. He looks like Peter Parker and could easily pull off a nerd look if needed while at the same time I can buy him getting pretty popular with girls (without Peter knowing it himself, of course). He has the right physique where he can hide it as Peter but be still not too thin. He has a good voice for the role.

Basically everything.

Yes I remember when someone posted this video one month or so ago:

And I thought that he should seriously be considered. It's crazy how much dedication he's putting into this, I don't think the interviews and this whole gymnastics preparation is just coincidence, this kid has been wanting this role for a LONG time. This is some VERY impressive stunt work here. Tougher than anything I've seen Andrew Garfield pull it off, and he became literally a stunt man in preparation for Spider-Man. This kid is just crazy. I have to give him that, no other actor seems to be more prepared than him. Seriously, not even Andrew Garfield could pull it off the type of things he keeps doing again and again for at least as long as I'm browsing his instagram pictures and videos.

I'm VERY impressed. I can see why Marvel and Sony would be too.

Holland got the part?!?

I think it's a matter of time. It fits. The way some people are reacting, I'd dare to contradict what Latino-Review said and say that this kid is the actual favorite. It's obvious why he is on the list.

Basically, if they go with him, there's no need to actual prep time. He has been doing all along. All Marvel and Sony need to do is make a costume that he can fit on. This kid is ready.
