Harry: Maybe you will next month. Who knows?
Dude, just don't. I never liked her for the role since the day she was first mentioned here back in March.

I always knew she would be a bad choice.

Yep, did you see how Asa pushed that guy (don't know his name) "GET OFF HER!" I can't be the only one who was instantly reminded Symbiote Peter Parker!

I saw. :) I definitely think Asa would slay in the role if we do end up going through the Symbiote arc in the sequel films. He's terrific with the darker, more dramatic type of material that would come into play with the Symbiote suit.

I've been saying Hailee would be great for MJ for months. :o

I not verse on her. But I am open with mj too. All counting direction they go with.

Asa's accent is good there, if a little deep. He's preferable to Holland.

As I mentioned earlier, I think that deepness in his voice would actually work really well for the character. It's easier to believe that Peter could fool the general public and his foes into thinking that Spider-Man is a fully-grown man and not a fifteen year old kid in high school.

Heck, his height also kinda helps sell that too, when you think about it. Just depends on whether or not Marvel would want to highlight Asa's height or make him look shorter than he really is.

It'd probably be a bit hard for Asa to put on more muscle/weight, but I think it's certainly possible for him to do so. It's not like he'd need to be in the same sort of body shape that Chris Evans has for Captain America.

All joking aside. I think he'll be able to build enough to get by. Spider-man, especially early Ditko, was never a huge guy. And he can get better over time.

In terms of look and his voice, he looks alot closer to a young Peter Parker. Acting wise , he did seem a bit stiff and reserved in that trailer even in the more emotional parts, but that may just be his character in the film.

For me though sure ditko spidey wasn't a buff out guy. I still prefer romita and later artists look for peter in time. Sure I am fine if he is skinny for a film or too. But thst is my other concern besides can he do humor. Is with his body frame and body type is if he could bulk up. Cause as I pointed out about body types. And seeing pics of what his father looks like. Which is same body type. I just can't see him bulking out at all. And as I said in past I hate to see a skinny spidey now. And asa if picked still be a skinny spidey by time he stops playing the role. And have him look so out of place next to cap thor falcon and hell even dd.

O get that. I was just stating my perferd look for the character which is romita and on. Average looking guy but has bulk and muscles but not roided up wwe wrestler look.

No. Because Asa's voice doesn't sound deep like an adult's. It sounds deep like someone whose voice has recently broken, and actually makes him sound even more of a teenager. And when he speaks loudly or quickly (as in scenes from Ender's Game) he sounds more like he's a kid shouting.

So no, he wouldn't fool anyone into thinking he's a fully grown man at all. On the contrary, his deep voice would highlight even more the fact that he's an adolescent and fifteen year old kid. And also, his voice is deep and dry and monotonous anyway, so not really suited to the motor mouth quips.

Did you watch the trailer? Because personally I thought he sounded far more natural and older there than he did in Ender's Game. Which makes sense, seeing as how he filmed EG over three years ago when he was in the middle of puberty.

Look, I get that you don't like Asa for the role. That's totally fine. You're more than entitled to have your own opinion. But I'm kinda surprised by how vehemently aggressive you are that he isn't right for the role at all. While he doesn't seem to be the exact favorite for most people here, others generally at least recognize that he has potential in the role. There are things worth being a bit apprehensive about, like whether or not Asa can pull off the quips and general comedy of the role, but it's certainly possible that he can do it.

Trailer for what?

And I haven't said Asa isn't right for the role at all. But since it's usually now a debate between who is more suitable out of him or Tom, I am normally just presenting reasons why I don't think he would be as good a fit as him. I don't see anything as being vehemently aggressive at all. What's aggressive about saying he doesn't sound like he would fool people into thinking he's an adult as you suggest? It's not an exaggeration on my part but my honest opinion. I have heard him in interviews recently too.

Trailer for what?

For Asa's most recent film, Ten Thousand Saints. Someone else linked it here a page or two back and that's what started the conversation about his voice as Spider-Man.

I don't know if this changes your mind on that matter at all, but it's what I based my thoughts today on.

Fair enough! :) It was just the general impression that I was getting from your posts lately. No harm, no fowl! :highfive:

For me my only concerns with asa isn't his acting. But could he do humor and wit. And then his body type. But that is a whole other debate.

For me between asa and tom. Tom feels safer and has a more natural charm to him. That would likely play off pete and spidey better then asa.
