If Josh is really candidate I would rather have O'bryan. I dont want Peeta to be Peter. Would be weird. If they cast him they can cast Lawrence as MJ also.

They'll put Spider-Man up in Boston if Josh is cast.

Suddenly josh hutcherson become a strong candidate? Well i don't mind if it was him though i prefer o'brien

I just don't want any teen heartthrob types , which seem to be the type that are thrown around by fans for the role. Its Hollywood so , what's consider average there, is considered like a 9 among the rest of the human population , so the actor who plays Peter ain't gonna be homely.

I know there are a contingent of fans who want Peter to be more the dashing Romita type characterization, but as a teen, I'd like him to be more like the boy next door type and not a handsome guy with glasses on.

Ultimately the actor's gotta have personality and charm beyond just even being a good actor.

Exactly, I agree with everything said -- especially the bolded part.

ironically, anyone they cast will become a teen heartthrob type, by being cast as Spider-man... once they get him in shape an put him in a fitted suit, the fan-girls will be all over him

that ain't necessarily a bad thing

This isn`t necessarily true. There are talented not-so-good-looking people working in Hollywood, they are just outnumbered by the waves of models trying to get into acting just because of their good-looks.

I started reading comics by the late 90s/early 2000s run of Spider-Man, so Peter Parker has always been quite handsome to me. There`s a reason there are Spidey covers with shirtless!unmasked!Peter, when he`s only got his shirt off in 3 panels in the actual issue. The guy is good-looking (same thing goes for all female characters with cleavage in covers). And "Boy-next-door" doesn`t really equate "average looks" either. MJ is a "girl-next-door", and she`s gorgeous.

Ultimately the actor's gotta have personality and charm beyond just even being a good actor.

Wholeheartedly agreed.

Another relatively unknown name would be Dylan Everett.

I have never seen him before. Has he done good work?

Eh, he's been on Supernatural and Degrassi as well as a lead in the show "Wingin' It" where a teen (him) gets assigned an angel-in-training due to his bad luck.

He kinda gives me some Peter Parker vibes, and he has a good sarcastic sense of humor.

Not a top choice by any means, but I like him.

He's short, though. (my height aka 5'5") :oldrazz:

Our favorite scooper, Eh Maybe as I like to call him, is waving that "a major CBM movie director has been found" and that "an actor for major CBM movie" has been found. He's trying to pull the wool over people's eyes and making people guess whether which one is DC and which one is Marvel.

I'm 95% sure he knows who the next Spider-Man is.

I see. I haven`t seen either, though the latter sounds an awful lot like Fairly Odd Parents:oldrazz:.

I`ll reserve judgement for when I do see him then.

Oh, that could be a problem, but only if they try fixing it. I honestly couldn`t care less about Hutcherson`s height, but it does bother me that it`s constantly changing in The Hunger Games so that he can be tall enough when Jennifer Lawrence is around. They should either let him keep his height (no shame in being shorter than his love interest), or at least try to keep some consistency as to the height they assign him.

He actually did a pretty good job on the clip you posted. I could see that working.

I don't have an issue with heights, considering RDJ is short as Tony Stark and my favorite version of PP/Spidey is Spectacular Spider-Man, where he is 5'6". :oldrazz:
