When green screen action was going down, he had this over the top sense of excitement/danger to him. I find that crucially negative since he'll be doing a lot of green screen work as Spidey. I just flat out don't think he's a great actor. Good enough for the PJ series I guess, although I find that series pretty lame. I want raw talent in our new Peter.

The PJ series wasn't any great shakes, so maybe the films are more to blame than the actors. Maybe he could surprise you?

Meh. Just doesn't fizz me. Seems like too much of a popularity pick rather than the good of the character.

Then again, I could totally be wrong and he could kill it as Peter Parker. I just don't see that happening.

If he joins the MCU who would cast him, who cast BP? Feige? Cos usually it's mostly director input right, but obviously there isn't a director for BP and who knows when they make a solo Spidey

I think he'd make a good Pete because he's a fine actor and pretty young. I've already said it twice and you seem to be ignoring me, so I'll say it one last time; watch him in other films, for God's frickin sake.

No joke. this guy does resemble Peter Parker of the comics the most imo. but he's 5 ft 5" it'll be acceptable at first, see seeing as Peter is just a teen who hasn't gone through his growth spurt yet. (Which he did in USM) but he's definitely going to be playing Peter for some time; probably 5-7 Marvel movies, so his face and body is definitely going to age. so in the long run he'll end up looking like a midget.

He was genuinely warm and empathetic in the role, which are qualities Peter needs. He also did well with the loneliness of the character, just wanting friends. Basically, a Max Dillon who isn't a split second away from a straightjacket.

Someone suggested Zac Efron, and I thought it could be alright. I suggested Brenton Thwaites, which was briefly discussed. I think it's because of the reports that Lerman is the heavily favored pick, which leads us to discuss him the most.

Thwarted is good. He reminds me of Grant Gustin, who would be a great spidey if he wasn't already Flash

Lol "Thwarted". How ironic would that be if he's not picked? My only problem with Thwaites is that the most high-profile films he's been in so far, Maleficent and especially The Giver, aren't very good.

Damn autocorrect! And yea, I didn't dig maleficent and heard bad things about the giver. Apparently he's gonna be in Pirates 5 though.

If Pete's in high school for most of the series, I want Flash Thompson to be in more than one movie for once. Chris Zylka was supposed in appear in TASM2, and he was cut.

More Flash would be great! In the comics he winds up in peter's friend circle, so I thought we'd see that in tasm2 because of how they ended in tasm1. And it's marvel we're talking about, the long-term planners, so eventually we could see agent venom. He could even show up as agent venom on Agents of Shield!

I like that idea! Maybe they could have him leaving for the military like he does in the comics. I think he has an abusive father in the comics too, so maybe at some point he relates to Peter about it at some point. I liked that they made him a bit more multi-faceted in TASM1, it's more in line with his character.
