That ad is really insane.
This is the latest McCain attack ad. It's called..."Dreamy".
My honest opinion? This is by far the stupidest campaign ad I have ever seen. Not because it's against Obama (because I hope he doesn't release something this lame either) but because of the silliness of its execution. I mean seriously: did an adult come up with this?
And the whole "Raise Taxes On $42Kers" thing is an outright lie.
Wayne World clip
That ad is hilarious; McCain is running the most entertaining campaign ever, what will he come up with next? The message his campaigns given out over the past month is "Obamas popular, Im not, so vote for me!"
For real, all fo these ad's dont list 1 reason to vote for McCain. 0. All they say is to not vote for Obama, which appearently McCain thinks means theyll vote for him
Like voters are that stupid![]()
I agree. McCain isn't worthy. Not worthy to be President, not worthy to be on the same stage with Obama, not worthy to run a gas station.I honestly thought it was kinda funny. Especially the Wayne's World clip at the end.
Ya know McCain has enormous amounts of arrogance, but nobody ever calls him on it. He had an ad that called him 'President McCain' for god's sake. He stated point blank that "I know how to win wars". I do believe that McCain wants the presidency purely for power, and if that isn't arrogant I don't know what is. While Obama, I'm sure, would like the presidency for prestige purposes also, call me naive , but I really think he wants to try to help the situation in America. I certainly don't get that from McCain. I just find it strange that this is a deal-breaker for some folks. I don't care if a man's an *******, as long as he has sound judgment and policies I can believe in and gets the job done. Not in the eyes of the voters, IMO......and I don't see that as a flip flop, lie or whatever......I see that situation as a major, major, major.......screw up of judgment on his part, and every misjudgment after that is simply tacked on to that situation. That was an extremely personal connection of major, major proportions, much more than any relationships I have seen in campaigns up to this point.
Is it why I cannot move towards Obama in this election? No, but it is one of several misjudgments that I've seen throughout this campaign. Most of which I've already discussed.......I also cannot get past is seeming arrogance, IMO. It is an opinion of mine, I understand if people do not see that, but I see it loud and clear. I believe that our president does need a great amount of self confidence, but I would like to see that after they have actually won the election....![]()

McCain is no longer his own man, that 'maverick' died during the 2000 primaries when the Bush/Rove campaign ran over him like it was a freight train. He's pretty much sold his soul for the presidency and destroyed his 'maverick brand. I don't want a puppet president with the Cheney and Rove folks pulling his strings, and that's exactly what I think we'll get with McCain. More Bush.
Like Obama sad after the last celebrity ad-
"Ask McCain what he is for, not what he is against."
Attacking Obama is the only way the media will pay attention to him. He's tried to say what he is for...no one listens though.
that's no excuse really.
I agree with you, Sparkle. If McCain truly is this Master Tactician that knows how to win wars that he proclaims himself to be, then I would expect that he would be intelligent and crafty enough to figure out how to run a smooth, smart, efficient campaign that leaves no doubt about his policies, processes, stances and why he is the better candidate. As it stands, the best he can muster is this childish crap that only manage to give little Freudian glimpses into why he hates Obama and nothing more.

I never said that it was ok or excusable in any way. I'm just saying that attacking Obama seems to be the only way that John McCain can get people to pay attention.
plus, shouldn't all the juvenile stuff be coming from the non-senior citizen?
It's really the political equivalent of resorting to insults and name-calling which, to me, is a sign that the person doing that really has no argument or base to stand on.

**** you!
I thought we deported you to Mexico, *****ebag!

You hit it on the head, Senor Vote Buying Scheme. How about a Tax Cut across the board? How about Tax Cuts for all Corporations? How about making the United States a better place to start a business or keep them here? That'll stimulate the economy. So has anyone read Obama's new "No taxes for seniors" plan? Am I the only one who thinks this is the most idiotic thing ever?
First of all, it only applies to seniors making less than 50 k a year...so I guess if you are making $50,001.00 a year (well within the middle class, just like $49,999.99 is well within the middle class), you're screwed.
Second, why? Why do seniors not have to pay taxes? I mean, I get it, they've lived a long time...but for the most part, seniors are the most financially secure demographic there is. Most are retired with pensions and S.S. checks, living comfortably. Why are they exempt from taxes when middle class Americans in the 30-60 bracket are losing their homes and struggling to put food on the table? Not to mention, a tax break for seniors isn't exactly the best way to stimulate the economy being as they aren't what you would call vigorous spenders.
This seems like a sad attempt to take the senior vote off McCain by presenting what may be the most stupid idea in the history of modern politics (outside of allowing the UN to tax American citizens. Another brilliant plan of Barack).
Also, our deficit is out of control right now. I get the whole "tax cuts stimulate the economy and lessen our deficit" argument...but telling a whole bracket of citizens "Hey, you don't have to pay anything," just doesn't seem like the most fiscally responsible move at the moment.
