He had enough going on then, and was basically running with the Pantheon. Plus there's no niche he needed to fill in the Avengers at the time, with Hercules as the strong-man and Black Knight as the brain.

I understand it's just so odd with Marvel putting everyone on the team at one time or another that it never came back around to the Hulk.
Maybe Hulk would have stolen the show and being the second most recognizable image 2nd only to Spider-man.
But even more the reason to put him on.I don't know.

Just read this week's issue of The Avengers. Have to say that I kinda feel let down. I was expecting something a little more flashy, but heck, the previous were issues had plenty of highlights I must say. I'm pleased that this arc is over; time for something new!
