Yeah, and the modern Scarecrow of what he has evolved to be in the Marvel universe ... is a pathetic imitation of the real good Scarecrow ala DC. Even if they didn't give him powers, the fact that he is named "Scarecrow"... people would be all "wtf" saying why is the Scarecrow from Batman in this? Yet he is not even close as entertaining or bad ass?!?!

yuh the scarecrwo was really cool in batman begins with his potato sack mask and a crappy suit to go with it. Riiiigggghhhhhtttt. Batman's scarecrow has fear gas while GR's scarecrow emits it from his pores, and he is a serial killer as well. Puhlease.

All Scarecrow ever has worn WAS a potato sack mask. And you damn right he was cool. Maggots dripping out of his mask, stitch lines turning to worms, fire breathing horses ... THAT WAS SCARECROW as everyone knows him. Johnathan Crane, the one and only.

Riiiigggghhhhhtttt. Batman's scarecrow has fear gas while GR's scarecrow emits it from his pores, and he is a serial killer as well. Puhlease.

AND ... they stole the concept from DC, and the only twist they put to it is that he emits it from his pores. Same difference, same purpose. Yet the DC one, not the discount crappy version (ala Marvel) comes off as an actual believable scenario, barring a scientist created such a drug for hallucinations. The Marvel version rips off the idea, and makes it so looney it isn't believable in the slightest. Fear gas > Fear sweat.

And Scarecrow in DC is a mass murderer as well, what's your point? Take a poll on which character general fans prefer. The original Scarecrow, or the pale imitation with ripped off idea. See Black Cat as a further example of a lame Marvel rip off.

I think the character could still work.

The first thing to do is to chnage the name. Lord of the Crows. Ravenflock. Bleak. Grandmaster Scarecraw Anything but THE SCARECROW.

Maybe an upping of the differences between the marvel and dc scarecrows. Focus on his escape artist abilities and circus beginings.

Perhaps the trained crows angle could be exploited even more. Perhaps he can literally control or turn into a flock of crows to attack GR.

Instead of using a fear gas perhaps you could have that GR scarecrow has been changed from an escape artist criminal by a pact with a random demon. Now he is a demonic entity who lives off of fear, in a sort of ringu like way you could have he scares his victims to death on the spot and then uses his demonic crows to eat the victim.

I`m sure that would be a big enough departure from the batman scarecrow. Wouldn`t it?
