hello all,
i am trying to make contact with
mark steven johnson
to show some storyboard samples.
just hoping he hasn't gotten someone already.
heard he comes to this board from time to time.
i'd show you all something if i knew how to get
attachment on this thing.
thanks for any help.
javier saltares

Man...
i take a week of vacation and Javier Saltares shows up here on the board...it figures. heh

and yes i agree w/ MarvelM...please post your work here if possible. loved your stint on the 90s book. i hope the folks at Marvel could include you on something to do w/ the movie though. whether it be doing the art for the movie adaptation (which would be a trip! maybe even get Tex in there too...), action figure designs, or some promotional artwork. maybe even do a special type of movie poster like what they did for the Punisher?
that would be nice....

Is this the real Saltares? I don't doubt you but, it's hard to trust anyone to be who they say they are on the net. Maybe it's somebody with the same name. I mean, I would think that he would have a better way to get in contact with MSJ than posting a question on a website forum.

Either way, I hope to see some of your work soon.

yeah it's me.

thanks for the comments btw.
i'll try and get the images up a soon as i can.
would like very much to share them with you
but i don't have a site to post them on yet.
again, thanks
javier saltares

Wow... This is crazy. I do apologize for doubting you. I just have to say thanks for the being part of the great team who brought Ghost Rider back to life.

I found this online... look familiar?

Just plain awesome!!!

Welcome to the hype and I hope we get to see some of that art soon.

let me know how and i'll do it today.
thanks
javier saltares

For that matter, you can email them to any of us Ghost Rider fans. I'm sure we'd cheerish them greatly... hehe. Actually, MM is the best one to trust them with. He has a great site that can host those pics for you... or even an entire page devoted to you and your work, if you wanted. I think I read him suggesting that earlier. Not tryin' to step on your toes double M.

I still can't believe that we're chatting with you Javier. Your work is truly amazing and definatly one of the reasons why the 2nd series was so damn good (better than the original in my opinion). You and your team captured the world of Ghost Rider perfectly. I love it!

... now, I have to wait patiently to see what you post, if you decide to post anything.

just sent stuff to mm.
yesterday. to be honest
i'm looking forward to your
responces on it. thanks again
for the inerest.
javier saltares

not at all.

that's why i sent them.
i would even consider it a favor.
thank you
javier saltares

Wow Javier...that stuff is tight.
and I thought Bernie Wrightson's version of a trenchcoat GR was cool! heh...just put some spikes on the fore-arms and knuckles and its perfect. :)

If you dont mind would you mind answering some questions? i think you would be the one to ask these to.

1. is it true that the original concept for the 90s GR was that he was to be a sort of "supernatural Punisher"? where on occasion he would kill human villains if the Penance Stare wouldnt work....as opposed to where he continually said (in most of the 90s series) that he would never knowingly take a human life.

2. were there any preliminary or unused concept drawings of GR ...or did you already have the look of GR already laid out?

3. do you agree w/ the idea that GR could be made into a PG13 film? or do you think an R rating is the way to go.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Your work is off the chain Jarv:up:
Hope to see something similar to your work brought to life on the big screen.I actually really like the trenchcoat look and wouldn't mind seeing it in the film and the hellfire samurai swords !!!! there not traditional but damn do they look cool;)

i heard of marvel wanting to do more gr stuff and i'd love to be on it but we'll see.

Heh...i would do it BUT only if Javier gives me permission :D

Ahhh... why am I only getting back to this thread now? Damn that's nice work Javier. That facial shot is awesome!!

I have a question; Where did you get the idea to give him an oriental type look? The samurai sword and all is pretty damn cool and would make a nice addition to his chain assaults. Awesome work!

I hope we see more and I will you all the luck in the world in getting involved with Ghos t Rider again, in whatever fashion possilbe... either the movie or a new series. It always great to have passionate people work on something and you seem very passionate about this character. Anyone who has that much fun creating one, must.

Javier, you know Marvel will probably give GR a new monthly, or at the very least a LS when the GR movie hits. You should send this stuff over to the guys at Marvel, man! I'd love to see this kinda GR goodness monthly, and I think everyone here would agree!

I know I would. I can't see any reason why Javier would not have contacted Marvel by now. Of course, I know nothing of his personal life so I really have no room to talk. All I know is that his art is rockin' and I would love to see him as an addition to the new Ghost Rider mag.

Javier, seeing we're on the subject, have you been in contact with Marvel... or are you more interested in getting involved with the movie?
