Except Sandman isn't Uncle Ben's killer this time..........

lol hopefully not. Who knows by ASM 3 Mysterio might be uncle bens killer. Hopefully the ASM sequels don't drop a turd on this origin and we can just leave it alone for once and move on.

I know, I was being sarcastic.. Im saying its so insignificant, that it literally doesnt matter at all.

He still gets bit, Ben still dies, all that good stuff. The only differences are so basic. Its not very different. It cant be really.

...but there are some larger differences.

Peter seems to be more of an outsider in this than Raimi's movie.

Ben's death seems like it's going to have a larger impact on Peter because (in a messed up way) he is responsible for it.

...Webshooters. (lol)

Involvement of Peter's parents and their possible ties with Oscorp.

I hate the fact that they keep dancing around the fact that this is a re-boot. As if calling it that somehow dis-respects the other films....

Peter was portrayed as a complete outsider in raimis. It depends on your definition of outsider I suppose. I personally like my peter geekier/stumbling outsider more so than edgy flouffed hair outsider. But we'll see

Bens death was most certainly Peters fault in a messed up way in spidey 1 haha. Thats pretty much the basic origin though, Peter lets Bens killer just walk away, when he could have easily stopped him 5 minutes earlier. Thats always been pretty messed up since Spider-Man was invented. no matter the situation, itl be messed up.

Webshooters FTW I agree on that on every account. Never liked the organic stuff. In this case I think they should have been beneficial if it was switched around. Webshooters would have fit raimis fine, while organics would actually have been a nice different idea in a reboot. (which ASM needs more of)

Peters parents feel shoehorned at the moment. Just there to try harder to differentiate the origins. Like in a meeting they were asking themselves "what can we do to make this origin different?" and thats where it stemmed. Cause it certainly ain't from the comics! We'll see how that turns out. I did like that in the trailer though.

for me there is the major difference of peter being a complete loner in this movie, in the original movie peter has harry. no matter how bad things got harry was there, - flash pushes peter and harry sticks up for him.

in this movie you see peter walking down the school corridor, I don't know if you guys have anyalysed that scene but pay close attention to peoples faces as he walks by, almost dislike.

I think this movie is going to be about pure wishfulfilment than the original movie. in the first movie it was about peter attempting to get into MJ's pants and the powers being a way to do that, in this movie I think they are really going to play up the pure escapism the powers will grant because his normal life is pretty sucky.

if there are no quips and puns then I can understand given the tone but I think they will really play up peter becoming a totally different person in the spidey costume.

Exactly.

Yeah you're absolutely right. And that's also how it was in the earliest Spider-man comics, Peter didn't really have any friends and he didn't meet Harry until college

yep, he is a total loner in high school and just when people start to reach out to him, something happens (usually his aunt getting sick) so he is deep into his thoughts and people take this as aloofness. the scene with peter pouring over his books with gwen unnoticed looking on is classic spidey.

This post is awesome!

They're looking at his face in the hallway because it's bruised.

I agree.

I don't get some of these people who are dissappointed, though. No matter how great the acting, music, cgi, 3d, or whatever is, people are just refusing to accept the film and give it its due coarse because its a reboot. So in the end, it really has nothing to do with the fact that this could be much BETTER than the first Spider-Man film. It's a reboot, therefore it "sucks".

I don't like that mentality. I get very heated when I talk to ppl who think like that. Only because I can name 50 other "unoriginal" films/adaptations/reboots/remakes that they LOVE based on all the things they're purposely ignoring for this film.

BTW, I think Avengers will be good, but I'm personally sick of it. I'm sick of the way all the Marvel movies look. Feel. Sound. How they're directed. Acted. Everything. They have the characterizations and emotional complexities of a spoon. Not all, but most. I know I'm going to get flamed for this post, but I feel these Marvel movies are all smoke and mirrors with a bunch of talking mannequins. You can predict everything. All the beats, all the cues, all the twists. Then you get something like The Amazing Spider-Man and everyone's worried and ****ting bricks because "That's not how you're supposed to make it".

Well guess what? They already made the dumbed down kiddie version for grown ups. I want something new. Throw me a bone, and leave some meat on it, too.

Sir.

This is the best post anyone has ever posted in these forums. It is so spot on that I should print your post and hang it on my walls. You show more intelligence than most people here combined.

Thank you!

EDIT: In fact, it is so spot on that I will have it in my sig, if you don't mind!

Trailer wasn't bad. I wasn't really excited about this movie at first, but the trailer piqued my interest. I still like the other spidey suit as well as Toby Maguire, better. I like Emma Stone in this. I really hope Peter Parker isn't so mopy as the trailer suggests. Also, I like organic web shooters better.

How does Parker's parents die in the comic? Weren't they spies, or something?

I really wish people would stop compaing the teaser to the previous trilogy overall. It's very stupid to compare them, especially at this point.

I will always like the other Spidey suit the best but as for the original movies themselves, Although I like them, Raimi took a character that should have been fun & exciting & made him really boring especially in the first movie but then 2 & 3 weren't as boring but just had boring parts. Aside from the different Spidey suit, I hope the remake ups the anti on the fun & exciting aspect of Spider-Man.

oh I see we're back to bashing Raimi

Does anyone know what time they'll present ASM at Comic Con today?

Ninjacarm, do you have the link to the article that contains the quote in your sig?

You know what I honestly don't have a link but someone on here had it.

Hope that it turns out to be true!:awesome:

But I believe it was from USA Today.
