I love you ;)

There are three types of Spider-Man fans at my school.

1) The Raimi die-hards who don't want to see ASM.
2) The Raimi die-hards who want to see ASM.
3) Me. :whatever:

There are 3 people at my school.

1) My mom.
2) My teacher.
3) Me.

[BLACKOUT]I am homeschooled.[/BLACKOUT]

Why are you home schooled, may I ask?
I'm finished school, thank God!

Don't take this the wrong way but, what's it like to be homeschooled?

It's nice. Less dramatic than going to an actual high school.

Plus I can sleep as long as I want, because I go to school for 2 hours a day in the afternoon. :funny:

I'm trying to convince my friends to give ASM a chance. I mean, I make one comment about the web-shooters and this is the response:

so they're making a movie out of the cartoon, only tweaking it

Kick him in the face.

And then kick him while he's down. Also in the face.

^ Yeah, what venomspawn said.
Anyone with that sort of blasphemy coming out of their stupid face deserves a good stomp.

How many spider-fans are there at your school?
And what level of fandom are we talking? Casual, adamant, or extra adamant...like us?

I'm not that violent :oldrazz:
But still, it's such a basic bit of information to understand... and they don't understand it. My friends seriously need to hit up the comic book store or, I don't know, download it somewhere :whatever:

EDIT: If I could sum it up, I'm going to be the only huge Spider-Man fan at my school next year. And I'm going to be a Senior. Everybody else pretty much only knows Spider-Man history ranging from the original '90s cartoon to the Raimi movies. They don't bother with the comics or SSM.

I will say im spideys biggest fan at my school.
Its a big school.. Lol

I too was homeschooled for two years.

Ah, I gotcha. Well they're missing out, the comics are a gold mine of great stuff :woot:
And yeah I'd like to say that I'm the biggest spider-man fan at my school but I don't reeeaaallly know....haha I go to a university of about 30,000 people sooooo. Hard to tell

Ok. Really dumb question. Haven't found the answer. Can't read it all: is a trailer coming soon?

Sometime this month. A lot of folks are guessing it comes out with Tin Tin or the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which both premiere on the 21st.

I don't understand why the term "reboot" gets such a bad rap.

Batman Begins
Star Trek
Casino Royale

All recent reboots that were well recieved.

BB - rebooted after 8 years (B&R 1997 - BB 2005)
necessary reboot as B&R finished the bat franchise. B&R was a major flop

Star Trek - rebooted after 7 years (Star Nemesis 2002 - ST 2009)
necessary reboot as ST:N finished the ST franchise. ST:N was a major flop

james bond was rebooted to make the bond franchise more contemporary

-------

SM:3 - rebooted after 5 years (FIVE!!) (SM:3 2007 - ASM 2012)
SM3 the most successful movie of the spider franchise and reviews were at worst lukewarm (rotten tomato 63% fresh)

just playing devil's advocate

The story that will let whiney people realise you can have different directors have their take on the character and it still can turn out great, hopefully

It's a way of trying to tell the audience that it's not a remake, and that they can look forward to new things (Lizard, web shooters, etc).

It's still the origin story, which has been told many times over.

It's a way of trying to tell the audience that it's not a remake, and that they can look forward to new things (Lizard, web shooters, etc).

But it is a retelling of the origin story, so the tagline is misleading at best.
