Oh. I thought he just didn't want the Lizard to be suckish in the movie. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

that's exactly what I meant although lizard literally sucking on his victims would be hugely entertaining.

I have a feeling it'll be better than MIBII.

It damn well better be..especially after all the rewrites and elongated shoots and Will's trailer taking up manhattan city blocks..it better be. I mean that teaser looked more interesting than the entire MIB 2 flick so it's got that going for it

After watching the MIB3 trailer I was wondering what company did the CGI in that last bit where he jumps from the chrysler building or overall for the movie?

If it's the same company for TASM, I'm reassured that the CGI will look great, because that bit from the MIB3 trailer looked really realistic imo.

What took so long for MIBIII to get made?

Script problems script problems and more script problems. They kept having different writers try to crack it and then finally Ethan Cohen, the guy who wrote Tropic Thunder, got a shot and made something that stuck but even then, they went into rewrites during production and took some months off so David Koepp could come in and fix it

It's a big gamble for everyone involved so I hope it works out. the last one was 10 years ago..geez I feel old, but yeah 10 years ago so hopefully people are still interested but I think Will Smith will always bring the people out so they got that going for them..and hopefully good word of mouth

Agreed. I feel like I'm one of the few who's excited about MIB3.

oh please, once the world gets a sniff of that thing, people will be excited. People love Will Smith lol..I mean the dude is the highest paid actor working today for a reason. Don't be fooled by the internet lol. It's one of those things that people will probably question if they want to see another movie but the closer it gets to memorial day, they'll really be excited for it. Plus it looks really really good and a nice spin on the mythology

I'm fairly excited, MIB is a great movie, MIB 2 not at all.

some things I would love to see in the movie to give the movie some dramatic weight;

1. would be cool if the movie focused on conner's utter frustration of only having one arm. maybe have a scene where he is attempting to do something as simple and mundane as tie a tie and breaking the bathroom mirror in frustration when e is unable to.

2. have tention between conners and his wife (purely from his side) she tries to reassure him that the arm doesn't matter but he is obcessed with being whole again and hence willing to dabble in dangerous experiments.
establish extreme motivation.

3. have conners at least have a couple of scenes where he is whole again and just have family time. quiet time with the wife, playing sports with billy. if you really want the audience to empathise with the villian give conners everything make him enjoy it and then take it away in the must heart breaking manner possible.

4. have spidey completely over matched by the lizard. you could have a cool scene where spidey punches lizard and nearly breaks every bone in his hand.
this way all fights with the lizard from spidey's point of view will seem desparate and last ditch. make it clear that when spidey is going into the final battle with lizard it's life or death with spidey having no idea if he can win this but needing to save his friend.

5. have peter discover the identity of conners and when he goes to the conners house (with lizard elsewhere) have a conversation between conner's wife and spidey which essentially has the wife trying to convince spidey not to turn lizard in and spidey trying to convince her that he has to or more people will get hurt.

6. have billy (conners' son) form a report with the lizard so the lizard doesn't attack hm on sight, you can have a really powerful scene where lizard is about to permanantly take spidey out but is stopped or rather distracted by billy.

unfortunately I don't think any of this will happen because the movie will focus on the origin and leave little or no time to explore conners or his family.

This is a great post. I can't agree more. I know it probably won't happen either, but remember Webb is a character director, so... maybe. Rhys has been gloating alot about his character and how he really isn't a villain, and that he is a difficult foe for Spidey in that way. So there will difinately be some sort of sympathy for him built up, I believe in Webb to do that.

Well, we know there's at least one scene where Doc Connors goes home and Billy asks him "what's wrong with your arm, dad?" or something like that.

Good post, I agree that I really want to see most of this, number 6 being the exception. I could live without seeing Billy having to stop the lizard from killing spider-man.
The rest though is pretty spot on to what I think could make a very compelling character and I imagine one or two of those will be in the movie.
