The reason I like what we've seen of the prologue action scene better than the train sequence in SM2 is simply because it has much more brain, intensity and is more badass IMO.

While the train sequence looks great to the eyes, there's not really any moment where you think "Holy ****, that was smart!!" in the same way you do with this prologue scene. Sure, ****ing up the train and tossing people around for Spidey to save was indeed smart, but not in a way that makes it feel deep and thought out by the director.

The prolgue scene from TDKR is NOT anywhere near on the same level of greatness as the train sequeance in S-M2, IMO.

So, I just checked out this story on MTV about what they want from the new trailer and in the opening paragraph, they mention that the rumor is the new trailer will drop before the end of this week. I don't know if anyone else here heard this, but if MTV is hearing the rumor there is a good chance there is some validity to it

Here's the article: What we want from new trailer

But Spider-ManHero12, you never say anything's better than something from the previous trilogy.

Imo.

=P

Thanks so much! :woot: this IS good news. Excitement!!

I can't see Sony just dropping the new trailer on the internet without at least informing us of it days before hand. It seems unlikely. Have they ever done something like that before?

This is a spectacular sign. And I really, really hope that the "rumor" is true.

I mean why couldn't they? Not saying they would or wouldn't but people will see it regardless. If they say it'll be out friday and it comes out friday, you'll see it..if they don't tell you, you'll still see it. They didn't announce the poster was coming out last Friday and it did and the story was everywhere. Surprises are fun sometimes. In the age of the internet, it doesn't take long for word to travel

Yes it is. The train scene from S-M2 isn't all that amazing anymore, IMO.

no action scene comes close to the train sequence for pure edge of your seat excitement. that's an opinion not a fact, it's just happens that lots of people have this opinion.

in ANY movie or just comic book movies??

Yes. The previous trailer pretty much came in out of nowhere.

We expected it, but they never confirmed that it was coming (until it leaked, I'm pretty sure)

You're right. First we thought it was with TF3, then it turned out that it wasn't ready, we waited a month, speculated it's release with Captain America, and then SHH confirmed it the week before.

I will readily conceed that no scene tops the batman joker interrogation scene for pure drama but for action no scene touches the train sequence and this is coming from someone who watched SM2, TDK and IM in quick succession not even a month ago.

Fair enough but again are you talking strictly comic book flicks because if we are opening it up to all genre's, I can't say that the scene isn't topped by any movie ever though

To this day, I have yet to be put on the edge of my seat as much as I was during the S-M2 train scene. All 3 films had incredible battles, but the train scene tops the cake.

I hear you..well I guess we just agree to disagree on that one because I've seen too many flicks to put that one at the top of the list of greatest action sequence. Die Hard, the first matrix even matrix reloaded, predator, some of the stuff in mission impossible 1 and 3, hell even the parkour scene in casino royale. For me, there are too many very very good scenes for me to put that as number 1 but to each his own

if we're talking the greatest action sequence of all time I'd have to give it to the lobby scene in the matrix. it's utterly mindblowing.

that's the first one I thought about when this little discussion started but let's not forget about John Woo's stuff..I mean the stuff in hard boiled is crazy, same with face/off. The highway chase in matrix reloaded isn't to sneeze at either. And the last shootout in Heat is incredible that's probably more my preference

didnt care about the characters in heat so didn't care if they lived or died so when the action kicked in I was BORED. I had the same trouble with inception.
