The Official Avengers Thread (Heroic Age Bendis/JRJR) - Part 1

And it made a lot of sense. They were looking for someone to replace Thor's role on the team. Storm fits that bill and BP pointed it out. I don't think it really needed anything else.

Agreed, no reason to make things complicated if they don't have to be.

You guys are nuts. It was as cut and dry as Havok explained it. This is horrid storytelling. I'm not saying there needs to be Shakespearean level depth to the story but c'mon, how about having the Avengers actually helping BP and Storm (maybe with something even Wakanda related) then offer BP a spot back on the team but instead Storm offers her help when he declines. It's a lot better than talking heads.

Does anybody remember Busiek's run when Hawkeye was out recruiting Justice and Firestar while Cap, Thor, Tony, Hank and Jan were sitting in a room, sipping tea? This has been a run of substandard writing on a great franchise. 2012 isn't gonna come quick enough....oh wait. Isn't the world ending in 2012.....? F**K.:csad:

Thats what I was thinking. I thought her inclusion would be written into the story, not handled the way it was. Makes her seem more like a throwaway addition just for the sake of having her on the Avengers. But this is Bendis writing so I shouldnt have expected much

He did the same thing with DD in New Avengers. They made a big deal of him joining and all he's done has shown up in one issue and killed a bunch of Nazi's.

Here's the spoiler cover that reveals what happens to Norman, since Bendis revealed he won't become the Iron Patriot again:

Makes sense, since Iron Patriot was a PR move. Btw, Skaar's not there.

Can't Norman just go back to being the Green Goblin already?

Yeah, either Green Goblin or nothing. Forget all this other dumb crap.

Skarr is probably the Dark Avenger that's gonna turn. Great, just what we need on the Avengers....another Hulk that's not the Hulk.:cmad:

At least this one's green (sorta)

Can we skip out on "Dark Avengers" altogether? They were cool during "Dark Reign", when there was a point to having a team of copycat Avengers, but it just doesn't make sense to me now. There's already an evil equivalent to the Avengers, and they are called the Masters of Evil.

Gonna say AIM made an adaptiod suit for him. Oddly and for some reason I can't put my finger on directly I'm actually buying the NA since this started, it just seems better in many ways to any Avenger Arc bendis has ever done.

Given how they last tried to market him, I'm guessing he'll turn out to be Moon Knight after the first arc.
