The Dark Knight The Official Barbara Gordon/ Batgirl thread

I dunno.

I actually think that might be too hardcore for a movie. I mean.....the *****ing and the moaning alone would deafen me.

There's still speculation as to wheter the Joker raped her or not. We know he, at the very least, took pictures of her naked.

That's something I think people would literally CRY about.

Imaigne, people on these very boards cry at the very thought of implying sex for Bruce Wayne. What do you think would happen at even the possible implication of a raped Batgirl?

Still.....it'd be nice to piss people off......

I think thats a good thign actually.

i think it would be cool but i might be one of the people with a tear :( lol

They gotta be careful how they play that angle because I dont think Nolan would do anything that dark and it is a little out of scope for a mainstream feature. It really isnt neccessary.

also,it probably would be pg-13,that like something for an r movie

I take it you never saw Momento.

If so look at that pic that Guy Pierce holds up of what he did after he finds the killer. Nolan can and will be dark if it's called for.

Now how it's shown on the big screen is another thing.

Barabra getting shot may not be as graphic as Alan Moore's drawing but the implication of the Joker's actions can be shown onscreen.

um.

Memento was R.

Batman is mainstream and PG13.

Alan Moore doesn't draw.

A 'PG-13' rating is just an 'R' 30 years ago.

You can get away with more things of a violent nature if it's not to overbearing or to graphic.

I rememeber some of the national critics cautioning parents on some of the images that was in 'begins'.

It wasn't a furor about them, just a caution. So if it's in the same vein it can be done.

And I meant Brian Bolland, not Alan moore, sorry.

can anyone make some more oracle manips with alexz johnson

oracle dammit!would anyone concider dina meyer for oracle again?

dina meyer is like 40 years old or something

In Batman Begins when Batman visits Gordon at his home while hes taking out the trash you can hear a baby crying from Gordon's apartment. If I remember correctly you could even see it. That was most likely Barbara. So if The Dark Knight continues around the same year when Batman Begins ended there really isn't a way to introduce her, unless we go off-course from the comic books and introduce a girl never mentioned in TAS/Comic book.

Guys, this thread is all of 3 pages wrong. If you are going to post in the thread, atleast read half the posts.

Since I am not going to take the effort to actually go back and quote my other post, I will simply say this:

You're Wrong..

The actor that plays Babs should be in their teens/early twenties right now - makin them the perfect age when she is introduced in (the earliest) 4 years or so.

you know... even though i'm a huge fan of babs in the comics... i don't really have any desire to include her in the movies. i fear cluttery movies. they are muddled and watered down. too many characters detract from the plot, especially when the focus is always on Batman. if it were a movie designed to contain lots of characters that have equal importance in the storyline... that might be different.

eitherway, batman is cooler on film when he's a solo act.

still too old
For Batgirl, yeah. Not that there even should be a Batgirl in this current Batman movie series.

and just for the sake of argument... if Barbara were in Begins she'd have to be about 14 or so. She's roughly college-age when she finally joins with Bats in the comics and that's after he's been working with Robin for a while, so at least 6 or 7 years after he initially puts on the cowl.

I would agree, however if Batman were to need an ally outside of the limited roles Alfred and Jim can provide - I think an Orical Barbara would be a better choice than a Robin....right now.

I like Barbara Gordon, but I hate this thread.

:HATE :HATE :HATE.

:(

you make a good point SN... we haven't really seen any of 'The Detective's detective abilities in action. I'm hoping they expand on that hardcore in TDK. If they go the route where he's not quite as genius as he is in the comics then an oracle like character would be a really useful addition.
