I seem to keep finding people who love BB regardless of it's many flaws, and seem to think it's the greatest movie ever. Anyone else who has even the slightest knowledge of film, who wants to voice their view and disapointment at the midless following of BB, please post here!

hmmm. i would like to post my foot... up your ass.

There's a thread for people "Those who disliked Begins - Why?"

I suggest you post there and close this tread.

Can you drive stick?

OMG CLASSIC!!!

Is Batman Begins a fantastic film? Yes.

Is Batman Begins monstrously over-rated? Yes.

But you could say the same about spiderman or any other batman movie.

I'd disagree that it's fantastic, it's not bad, pretty good, but nothing special at all. Spiderman is alos overrated, but is superior to BB.

I think I´m gonna create the "I´m tired of Internet know-it-alls who call any well-liked movie overrated all the time to sound like they´re too cool for school" thread...

wait wait wait hold up hold up

spiderman is superior to batman begins?!?!?!?! NOW you have me mad.

There isn't a single aspect in film making in which Spiderman surpasses BB.

Well, you're welcome to list its many flaws.

How are people saying BB is one of the greatest films ever? I get people like batman, and I get people like simple action flicks, but c'mon, there are soooooooo many thousands of superior films, why does it always win every poll? have people just not seen enough films?

green goblin kinda gave me the vibe that the megazord was going to make an appearance any second.

spider-man just comes up with his suit and we have no idea where he got the high tech fabric.

they ignored the whole spider-man smart ass thing, which is the best thing about the character IMO.

Agreed mostly, altho the comic goblin always bugged me anyway, Dafoe made the character good, and SPider-man's fabric isn't that high tech, it gets blown away pretty easy at the end. I felt much more satisfied by spider-man than BB. Even though i loved the scarecrow before the film and hated the goblin before spider-man. Although i still say scarecrow is the best bit of BB, I'm just of the view that BB was boring, nothing spectacular, just lots of things I've seen in other films brought together. Bale also disapointed, he's performed so much better before!

i guess 'high-tech' isnt a great choice of words, probably 'really cool looking' would be better. i felt the opposite about BB i thought that it took risks and assumed that the audience was intelligent enough to understand a lot of the themes, metaphor, and dry humor that the film offers. i still liked most of spider-man but i thought it had more of the LOOK! CGI! ISNT THAT AWESOME! thing that most action/comic book films give us these days. i personally loved bale's performance, how he conveyed the rage and anger that drives bruce to do what he does. i also loved what he brought to batman, the intimidating, calculating batman that has only been seen in B:TAS. although i will concede that it wasnt his best performance, that would probably go to american psycho...

what would you consider things u have seen before broght together in BB? just curious:)

Well the action sequences are very dull, even fan's criticse that. The car chase is terrible. I've seen similar city's created on-screen before, and the whole journey to the east thing is rather cliche'd!

I thought bale was bad in this(love the machinist and american psycho though!), not his fault, but the writing made the character a bit of a playboy, I always see batman as a very dark character who doesn't have 'freinds', except alfred really. BB batman wasn't brooding enough, I wanted to see him broken, Keaton's batman was much more tragic and we felt his innner depression, Bale just seemed to have simple humour and be having a good time, which is not what I wanted to see! BB ruined my vision of batman really, except cillian murphy though!

since you're a burton fan im not going to argue with you because, well you are a burton fan and i cant change that. the car chase i really like because the tumbler was what i think batman should drive, a car as intimidating a batman himself. the action sequences arent the best part of the movie but certainly not something i have seen before, which i respect. keaton's batman i really hated, mostly because i see no motivation in him or any of the tragedy you point out. also because he physically looks nothing like batman.

agreed on pysicallity of keaton, but i think he made a very dark bruce wayne. The car chase in BB confuses me, he turns his lights off and 'vanishes', only to appear again a few seconds later, just bugs me too much. I'm not a burton fan though, I like some of his films, but lately i consider him CRAP! I'm not a nolan fan either, insomnia is good because of acting not direction! Memento is dull on a second viewing, but memento mori is good!(the short story that the film is based on). I am a batman fan though, I just can't see why everyone likes BB? It's OK, nothing amazing, it's not something I'd make a habit of watching regularly or anything, or recommend it to people, there are much better comic book films, there are much better action films, there's not much else this film offers!

You just hate BB don't you?

this thread should be closed.

I don't HATE BB, I just don't think it's THAT amazing, I like it still, would probably watch it on TV, I do own it, but I'm not gonna watch it frequently or anything, yet everyone here seems to think it's the best film ever, that confuses me!

there is Those who disliked Begins - Why?" thread.

BB is great film blows other Batman fims out of water but I'm not saying it's "perfect"

Nolan & Co bought some life into Batman franchise.

Don't get wrong me Burton Bat ain't perfect either.

I prefer Burton batman(as you probably know). I like nolan's vision, it's not fantastic though, I think it'll get better and by the third film it could be the film that people think BB is. I think that BB has changed what batman was, which is a good thing, I just prefer TAS and Burton batman for now. BB seems a little more watered down, but two face is what I'm really waiting for, I think it'll work better in Nolan's world!
