If I remember correctly, Jim Jr. and Gordon's first wife, Barbra, left at one point.

Sorry I should have specified, I meant what happend to Jim Jr. Once Barbara Jim's wife was killed, wasn't she shot by the joker also, but killed?

that was Sarah Essan in No Mans Land who was shot by the Joker. Jims first wife and son moved to Chicago, i think.

ohh ok I was gettin confused. Ok, also, what's Solomon Grundy's backstory? I was interested in him after reading TLH.

Is Joe Chill still the murder of Bruce's parents?

No.

Or more specifically - not necessarily - Batman doesn't know who killed his parents, so I suppose it could still be Joe Chill.

Question: What is the most obligatory Batman material? :)

without the hooker origin or with the hooker origin?

Which is her official origin? I thouhgt it would be hooker since it was in Year 1.

is year one considered canon? I always just dismissed it as being out of continuity.

How did Gordon get fired and Atkins take his place?

and

What ever happened with that storyline where Bane was claiming to be bruces father...

Is Year One still in continuity? I thought it had to be since everyone loves it so much.

Year One is DEFINITELY still in continuity.

It was hinted that Bane could have been Bruce's half-brother, not father. And it turned out to be blatantly untrue, thank god.

It is. Read her own title, it's all in there and it's one of the best comics being published today.

He's the zombified corpse of a man killed in the 19th century in a swamp outside of Gotham. He has the ability to die and be reborn, each time with a different character.

Is Year One the farthest in depth that the comics go into Batman's origin or is there another?

Shaman takes place at roughly the same time.

The Batsquad is a great site but I was just wondering why Year Two and Full Circle are still in continuity?

Where does The Haunted Knight take place in continuity?

Does Bruce have illegitimate kids out there somewhere?

Yes, in fact Dick Grayson is actually his son and the Huntress is actually his daughter that he had with Gordon's ex-wife.

Good a stupid questions thread.

I'm collecting all things Batman Begins at the moment and have just found some Year One comics which look like they have been realeased for the movie/at the same time as the movie. I'm not a collector of comics but do you think it would be good to have these as a sort of tie-in to the film? The comics are:

Year One : Ra's Al Ghul
Year One Scarecrow (seems to be 2 of these, different covers)

Thanks for any help or opinions.

No, they don't really relate to the movie... they were only released to add to the hype and I guess to give a little info on the characters to people who saw the movie but aren't familiar with them. The Ra's story is pretty cool, but I can't see how its a "Year One" and the Scarecrow story I didn't like because it ruins the continuity established in The Long Halloween (the best Batman story EVER, in my opinion).

No. Pre-Crisis on Earth II, he and Catwoman married. They had a child who would be Huntress. But Crisis changed her origin, so Batman and Catwoman never married.

Batman has an out-of-canon son with Talia.

In the DCAU,
Terry McGinnis is Bruce's biological son, but that is because Warren McGinnis' reproductive DNA was re-written with nanoids
