Anyone watching the Pacqiou fight? This has to be one of the worst fight cards I've ever seen. Good thing i didn't pay for it but watched it streamed from online. My wife fell asleep and she's a pinay and that says a lot................ask any filipino and they'd tell you.
You have a wife? Brave woman
But yes we both had the same reservations about this fight, we all know the purpose of it. Part of me just wants Floyd to finally finish this dude off and be done with it, but at the same time, he'll get nothing but criticized for fighting him now anyway, so it's a lose-lose.
I agree. Mayweather would now be the overwhelming favorite. A couple of years ago, I think Mayweather would have been favored but not like now. Paq has trouble with counter punchers and Mayweather is possibly the fastest and best one out there. Arum has robbed the public and now he's saying he wants Mayweather in April when everyone knows he fights every year on May 5th. Arum is the complete scum of the earth and is the main reason this fight hasn't happened.
Paq's had problems with counter-punching and crafty boxers his whole career. It's the main thing I've kept saying in here for years as the reason why he'd
never come close to beating Floyd. It wasn't until Marquez finally knocked his ass out that everyone else seemed to finally see that. They could fight 10 times, they could've fought 3-4 years ago, they could fight in a closet right now, it wouldn't make a difference.
Ward is boring, lets be honest here, its a fact. His game plan always consists of him holding, clinching, pop shotting and dirty boxing. When was the last time anyone finished a Ward fight saying 'did you see that Ward fight? It was exciting! I can't wait for his next fight!' He even knows he's never going to be a PPV star, that's why he needs someone with a following to get him that ppv event. Like I said before, him calling out Chavez Jr reeks of desperation and is a b- move on his part.
People said the same things about Hopkins for years, and they're still watching him fight at damn near 50. The difference is there was a Trinidad, De La Hoya, Pavlik, Calzaghe, Tarver etc. to make interesting matchups with.
Ward is from that same school of boxing Bernard is, and if he had better names in his division, he'd be a bigger star already. But he doesn't, so he has to make due for the time being.
I agree. I find it amazing how EVERYONE is calling out JCC Jr. Sergio called him out for years, Ward has called him out and so has GGG. I think Canelo has as well but not really sure.
It's one of the few guys with a name and a following around those divisions. But until he tries to learn his craft and actually apply himself to training, he only has one or two losses left before his stock plummets off a cliff too...
