I expect Golden Boy to tap Austin Trout for the Canelo fight; they fear Lara's skills right now, and rightfully so.

I loved the Matthysse-Soto fight. I thought Matthysse beat Zab Judah and Devon Alexander, and I expect him to get that elusive belt this year.

He could fight Molina who did beat Kirkland, and should have got it against Lara, instead of a draw.

I was shocked that he did that with only 2 rounds to go. Dude is clearly a mental midget. Something is missing upstairs. He could have ran away the last two rounds but then again, a broken jaw is nothing to play with.

According to Schaefer, and of course this could all just be him jockeying for a rematch, it got broken early in the fight, and then he suffered a second fracture and the color of the blood lead the ringside physician to speculate he had internal bleeding. Obviously, if he's bleeding inside of his mouth, it's internal bleeding regardless, so who knows what he meant by that but bottomline is, if Ortiz hadn't quit two times before, he would get the benefit of the doubt.

I'd be all for that one. Carlos Molina is a spoiler, though. A bunch of people feel he deserved to win his decisions against Chavez Jr., too. I expect Golden Boy to deem him too much of a risk with too small a reward.

My gawd is boxing rigged! Just saw the Donaire/african dude fight and they had Donaire winning by 9 freaking rounds! I had it Donaire by one point. The Feds should really investigate boxing. No wonder boxing is dying.

Agreed. It's just another Top Shank production. Blame it on Bob!

I had it 114-113 for Donaire.

Danny Garcia beat Amir Khan. :wow: The fight should have been stopped in the 3rd round but he made it to the 4th. Khan looked out of it!

Yeah, Kahn is a great technical fighter. Good jab, quick hands, accuracy. But he can't take fire. Seems like he came out to fight instead of box, and while that's good for fans, he's not doing himself any favors.

Yeah, I saw that fight again this morning and you are right. But the thing that really urks me is how when Khan threw any punch, no matter if he hit or missed, the crowd and HBO commentating just ooohhhh'd and aaahhh'd like he took dude head off. But still I was shocked at how the fight turned out.

In other news, Hayes beat Chisora and then called out one of the Klit's. I have no idea which one he called out because watching the heavyweight division now is like watching paint dry. I didn't even see the Hayes fight, just saw the news on ESPN. That division is about as alive as 1940's porn.

My 2 cents on recent fights:

DONAIRE-MATHEBULA
-I had it much closer than some of the cards: 116-112
-Donaire is too in love with his knock out power.
-Donaire needs to stick with the fundamentals (jabbing, setting up punches, combination punching, defense). Combine that with his speed, athleticism, and power, he could be invincible in the division.

HAYE-CHISORA
-Haye was better in every department. He was slicker, faster, and more powerful. Very impressive performance. Vitali had a more difficult time than usual with Chisora (going the full 12 rounds without even knocking down Chisora) while Haye knocked out Chisora in 4 rounds. I could entertain Haye-Vitali if Haye is in a fighting mode come fight night.

Khan-Garcia
- Khan has great speed and combo punching, but he doesn't know how to use his height, he doesn't jab, and he he can get hit frequently. He needs a complete overhaul in his fight game.
- His glass chin can be compensated by a great defensive technique, something Roach can't teach. Roach needs to retire: he is too sick now.

Eh, we agree on everything except Donaire. He has to grow a set and fight someone with a name. Who has he beaten to be a top p4p fighter? The politics of boxing kills me.

Donaire dominated and knocked out Fernando Montiel in brutal fashion, so as ex-rising star Vic Darchinyan.

Yeah, Darchinyan looked unbeatable until Donaire came out of nowhere to murder him with a single left hook.

Pretty big upset, I was totally surprised! :wow:

I think it was Garcia's dad trash talk got to Khan and it made him go for the KO which was a huge mistake by Khan. I really thought Khan would win this one.

Who are you telling?! When I saw the fight and saw Khan go down in the 3rd, I was like :wow: . Didn't see it coming. He's now lost 2 in a row and even though I can't stand him and think he's arrogant, I hope he comes back strong.

Khan isn't an elite fighter.

His defence is appalling. Garcia is very one dimensional so that makes getting caught with that big left hook even worse. From that minute on he was chicken dancing around the ring and trying to engage Garcia instead of keeping his distance. Really stupid from Khan and deserved what he got.

I will give Khan credit though, he didn't duck anyone which is rare in boxing. But he should have waiting before he fought Garcia. Losing to Peterson and then fighting an undefeated champion is something you need a tune up fight before the match.

Yeah Lara is a fighter that everyone is avoiding. After he beat Paul Williams(I know he lost record wise but anyone who saw the fight knows what happened)everyone is avoiding him. No way Canelo gets in the ring with him. And after Sergio beats Chavez, I don't see Canelo fighting anyone elite any time soon.

I just watched Amir Khan's loss to Danny Garcia. I am severely disappointed. What else can I say? Garcia had no business winning that fight whatsoever. Khan was completely overwhelming him with his speed and combinations. Oh well. Amir, in alot of ways, reminds me of Badr Hari.

You know what I just watched? Dawson vs Ward. My gawd did Dawson look dehydrated. It's no excuse but........................it is what it is. Ward should have met him half way. Ward won fair and square but I think that the weight drain on Dawson has just as much of an impact as it did on Cotto when he fought Paq.

Perhaps, but he is the one who called Andre out and agreed to it. I just think he's simply not better, at any weight, but you definitely have a point.

I agree, Andre won fair and square, but Dawson looked off.

Vitali needs to retire, he was getting hit way too much, Haye would probably beat him at this point.

The ref should've let the the Molina/DeMarco fight go on a little longer, Molina didn't really look hurt, he should've just had a standing 8-count.

We agree on all three points! :wow: Honestly if the Klitchs retired, I think it would revitalize the heavyweight division. The division is dead right now because these guys are just to huge and there really isn't any one who could challenge them. I seen Tyson stand next to one of them and he looks like Paq standing next to the Rock. He dwarfed him!

And about Dawson, you can tell he was dehydrated because of how he started the fight. He showed flashes but he buckled from punches at times that didn't connect. He's already like a bean pole now and to shed 7 lbs is really a lot. I know he weighed in at 185, but I'm sure the food didn't distribute properly for the fight.

Arum is playing a dangerous game now. He was the last two fights, I think this time his luck could possibly run out!

I'm on the record, numerous times, that I feel Marquez won at the very least two of those fights. And in Manny's last 3 fights, I think a big part of him not looking quite that impressive has to do with him being disinterested. Aside from politics and all the other stuff he has going on, I think he just doesn't want to fight these people but can't do anything about it himself.

We all know the only fight he's going to gear up 100% for. Putting him back in there a fourth time with someone who gives him problems even on his best days is just a huge gamble. The judges, by this point, may even gift the fight to Marquez if it's close simply because they don't want to seem to be too favorable towards Pac. I actually think that played a role in the Bradley fight. So I don't believe Pac can win another close decision against Marquez even if it's deserved, and I don't think his style and focus will allow him to knock the guy out. It could potentially be a lose-lose situation for all involved, especially the fans...

Pacquiao should retire. The only fight that I think would motivate him enough is the Floyd fight.

Anyway, I would have been more impressed with the Ward victory if it was him who moved to 175. But I think the victory is enough for him to be my no. 1 on my personal P4P list.

1. Ward
2. Floyd
3. Pacman
4. Sergio
5. Donaire

I wonder what would happen to the p4p list if Chavez somehow dominates Martinez (which I don't think will happen, but Sergio is old and his last few performances weren't sensational, so who knows?)
