You're right and honestly you are not the only one to feel that way. I had a coworker who says Khan got jobbed. But honestly, that fight could have went either way and I can't believe it when people say Khan got robbed. He was blatantly breaking the rules even after he was warned numerous times.
So I re-watched the fight last night and I wasn't drunk this time around like last Saturday. :D

So not scoring/counting the 2 stupid fouls and also not counting the knockdown in the first round, I scored the fight 115 to 113 for Khan, though round 11 could have gone either way or the 11th could be a draw but I gave the 11th round to Peterson.

Now counting the fouls and the knockdown... I have the fight 113 to 112 for Khan. Again round 11 could have gone either way or the 11th could be a draw but I gave the 11th round to Peterson.

Lol, fair enough. If I'm wrong, I have no problem admitting it.

I agree, but it's one of those rules that never gets called. To have it called twice in the same fight in the favor of the hometown fighter, smells like home cooking to me.
Did you rewatch the fight and see he 6th round hard warning?

Fair enough. It could have went either way but I had Peterson winning by 2 after the points were taken away. Khan ran, held, and pushed to much IMHO.

The fight is abit of a blur to me now as I was having a few alcoholic beverages at the time, however from what I do recall I personally had it as a very, very close fight with Khan losing without question due to the points being deducted.

He deserved the points to be deducted though I must have counted about 20 pushes during the fight. Rather than moving & circling out of danger from Peterson he stopped dead in the centre or on the ropes & ate body shots & uppercuts having to push him accross ring to get out.

I also thought during the fight that Khan's punches weren't as successful as Peterson's particularly from about the 6th round onwards. He seemed to throw 5 or 6 punches in bursts landing maybe only 1 cleanly with the rest hitting Peterson's forearms. In comparison to Peterson who when he got up close to Khan (& wasn't shoved accross ring) he threw 5 or 6 punches landing 3 or 4 good body shots or uppercuts.

Just saw the Khan/Peterson fight again and my gawd! I don't know how anyone can say Khan was robbed when the guy pushed off at LEAST 50 times and was warned numerous times about it. People shouldn't listen to bias HBO commentating because anyone with a name will ALWAYS get better talk in their from HBO. I had Peterson winning by a point after the flagrant pushing after Khan was warned numerous times. If you think I'm being biased, count the times he was warned. :o

it is a stupid rule how is pushing a foul lol

these guys are punching each other in the face but pushing is illegal lol

if i got a guy rocked but he holds on to me i want to push him off me to finish him

Yeah but Khan didn't hide it at all. Honestly before this fight I never heard of Peterson but he won this fight. Khan through more punches but Peterson was WAY more accurate. Compubox even said so, hence Khan with the excessive pushing.

Just saw the Froch/Ward fight. Ward schooled dude big time! I can't believe 2 judges had the fight 115-113 Ward. What fight were they watching?!

I was trying to tell people on here that fight wouldn't be close, Ward's no joke. I think he'll beat Bute just as easily, that is, if he's willing to go over there and risk getting robbed. And so far, he's been adamantly against trying that, and I don't blame him.

Bottomline is, said before I'll say it again, if Martinez wants to fight somebody so bad, Andre Ward isn't hard to find.

Martinez vs. Ward would be a great fight but my gawd did Ward look like a video game! Doc did you see the judges scorecard?! Are you serious?!? There was no way that fight was that close. Ward beat him soundly.

I also had it 115-113 for Ward.

Ward looked tired from the 9th round on and looked slower then previous rounds. I felt Froch was coming on late so I have him some of the later rounds.

You are right he did look look tired and even if you did give him the last 3 rounds, I still don't see how you could still have it that close. But again it was a great fight and at least we agree that Ward did win.

Good dominant win for Ward, now he just needs to fight Bute to see who the real champ at 168 is.

Yeah I thought it was a Master Class, but you know how judges go sometimes. That being said, Froch admitted himself he should've applied constant pressure from the beginning, but by the time Ward started to slow in the later rounds the damage was already done IMO. He was outclassed by a wide margin.

Agreed, but I can't see any scenario where Ward goes up there to fight him, and vice-versa. I think he should, because honestly I don't see any other semi-big fight out there for him, and he needs the publicity.

I feel he's sorely underrated, and needs a bigger name to introduce him to the masses. He even sounded a bit agitated that Bute wasn't in the Tournament in the first place. In fact, I think Froch might already be in talks to fight Bute next?

I honestly think Bute would embarass Froch as well. Ward vs Bute is one of the best fights out there and I honestly think the Super 6 tournament did wonders for their division. It makes Sergio look kind of bad because there are great fighters in the Middleweight division but he'd rather look like a bully and go down to Welterweight and fight Paq or PBF. He won't even fight Hopkins who is a big name that may give him a big payday. My confidence in Sergio seems t shrink more and more each time i see quality fighters close to his weight that he refuses to fight or even acknowledge. I'd actually put Ward ahead of Sergio in p4p fighter.

Give me a break with this bullying nonsense. He can barely make 160 and has fought at 147-154 for most of his career. Did you think Hopkins was a bully when he was calling out De La Hoya, Trinidad and Vargas back in the day? Now that was the definition of a bully.

If Khan can sack up and go fight in Peterson's backyard then why shouldn't Ward. Of course there's the possibility that he could get screwed over like Khan did, but apart from the 1st Andrade, there really hasn't been anything shady going on in any of the Bute fights.

Besides, if Ward is the one seeking recognition and a name, HE needs to seek out Bute and go over there. Bute already has a name for himself in Canada and is already selling out stadiums.

Stark, how old are you, 12? You have to understand people do not always have the same opinion as you, so you shouldn't try to come off as a Larry Merchant wannabe like the world is wrong and you are always right. You give ME a break! :o

Ward vs. Bute is the super middleweight version of paq vs pbf. Contrast of styles, offense vs defense. I think it would be a great fight. Bute is a knockout artist and Ward has great defense plus a strong chin but he does seem to run out of gas in the latter rounds. If it goes 12, I think Ward will win though.

Lucian Bute vs Carl Froch: Two-Fight Deal For Canada and UK in 2012

Bute, the Canadian-based Romanian, agreed to the two-fight proposal from Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn. The first fight is projected for Montreal in April, the return at Forest's City Ground in June or July. Froch said: 'That will be just fantastic. It's my dream.'
Hearn said: 'This must be the quickest and easiest deal we've done. We take the British end, they take the Canadian money and we split the rest 50-50, for both fights. Nice and simple.'
... Bute, 31, said: 'My next ambition is to close Carl's big mouth. He is arrogant and has too much to say. The truth of the Super Six is that I was very disappointed not to be invited. While Ward deserved this victory my preference is still to fight Froch and teach him a lesson.'

The difference is YOU keep posting your opinions as though they're facts.

Answer the question, was Bernard Hopkins a bully for calling out DeLaHoya, Trinidad and Vargas back in the day?
