Yeah I think so too. I think the whole General Zod rumor is probably them setting him up to be the main villain in the possible sequel. David Goyer and Nolan set up the Joker for the Dark Knight at the end of Batman Begins. Plus, it's funny cause the original Superman set up General Zod as the main villain for Superman 2.

And didn't WB demand Latino Review tell them who there source was on Twitter? Why would they do that? Cause it has to be true and they were pissed it was leaked lol.

I suppose it could definitely be true reading that it could still fit in with what Birthright is.

Yeah, if I recall:

WB did get pissed off at Latino Review and their source, Pinche Taco*, and hence, why we haven't heard from him in a year.

Also, I think it was New York Magazine's Vulture that mentioned that Zod could be in the film. But they NEVER said he was the main villain. Never.

Then OTHER sites spinned it as if Zod WAS the main villain through a game of telephone. Like what you said, Zod could be just a minor character or a set-up for a future movie. We don't know the context of the film yet. If it's linear or if it'll have flashbacks. Who knows?

Yep, Brainiac is a fan-favorite too and it would make sense to incorporate him into the story-line, so that definitely makes him a potential villain for the reboot.

I really think they can wait on Doomsday. you already have Brainiac. And if Brainiac had support, it'll probably be like robotic probes or the like.

What I think IS possible is..Brainiac is the glue that binds everything together and Zod might be a big factor to a new dawn for Krypton.

I could definitely see Zod and Brainiac teaming up to hunt down and find Kal-El. Or at least Brainiac using Zod as a pawn to find the last son of Krypton. This could also lead into Zod fighting Brainiac. Awesome!

Yeah, though Doomsday could work as a pawn of say Darkseid, but if Nolan, Goyer, and Snyder have no interest in doing the death and return of Superman then that would mean no Doomsday I would think.

At this point, I just wanna keep it simple and show a villain that we haven't seen before. I think Doomsday is too much and yeah, he's more of a pawn. So he can wait.

Also, may I add, that Goyer (and to an extent Nolan) probably wouldn't just use Lex or Zod for the first film only because it's done before. I mean, if you look at Nolan's Bat films and how they really digged into the comics for characters (from Ra's to Bane), I don't see why they can't do the same for Superman.

Well I reckon its Brainiac as the villain the one whose a physical threat to Superman with Lex more a villain as he was in Superman TAS. Who knows maybe Zod has a cameo as I mentioned above that would be cool and there wouldn't be any pressure to have him as a villain in a later film if they felt they didn't wanna go down that route.

I love Johns' 'Brainiac' storyline but I wish they would implement the 'three dot triangle' design from the animated series, instead the usual various diodes design.

Apparently Cinematical has heard whisperings of Doomsday. Hmmm...
