Mmmmm.... Ms Emma Peel....

I hope I'm not the only one who enjoyed watching her use some "Avengers" judo moves to kick the crap out of Blofeld's henchmen ... love the chop to the throat she gave to that one poor soul.

And Diana Rigg also provided a good antidote to Tiffany Case in "Diamonds are Forever," who did nothing except get slapped, whine, and act like she was trying to win the world's greatest bimbo contest. I was pretty infuriated after seeing that movie and hated "Diamonds" as a result. Jill St. John firing the sub machine gun with this whimpering look and clattering off the side of oil rig in her platform shoes did me in.

Not that Bond women are necessarily the pinnacle of strength in movies. ;)

That is not true at all.

In college I worked at a theme park musical review show, no live band. Canned music but live singers and dancers, and some of the cast had stalkers... er... fans. The thing was the park had season passes and some locals would get those and they'd figure out the performer's schedule and would be there for most of their performances...

There was this one girl who was had started being really nice to this one guy, nothing big at first. She'd say hi to him leaving the theatre, etc. But then he starting bringing her flowers and sending her letters. She turned down a date from him and stopped being nice to him. It was then he started following her home and the letters started getting threatening....

It got scary.

And she's a nobody...

God ... that is scary. I can still remember that poor actress who got shot when she was starring on the Pam Dawber show (the title of it escapes me). They had video of the guy who killed her, talking about it reverently and with total detachment like it was a movie.

Just frightening.

I can only imagine the letters that Brandon Routh is going to receive from his "fans" once this thing hits theaters ...

No clue about a US shoot. You never know though.

I'm from Folsom, sometimes home of Charlie Manson and the Menendez Bros. :D

It's about a half hour from Sacramento, about an hour and a half from the bay

Yeah, that was Rebecca Shaeffer and she was on My Sister Sam.

She was really young and her stalker (Robert Bardo) turned on her when she started doing more adult roles.... In particular there was a role that had her partially nude, I believe, and he took exception to that.

(I've done some research for a script I'm working on....)

I think even more frightening was the stalker that had tried to kill the singer/actress Bjork. Ricardo Lopez was infatuated with Bjork and had delusions that they were in a relationship (similar to several recent, more famous stalker cases) and was jealous of a relationship she was in.

He had planned to maim her by sending her a mail bomb that would explode, spraying acid on her face, making sure she'd no longer be appealing to other men.

The device he constructed worked and, had his plan succeeeded, would have seriously disfigured her.

His plan was only foiled because he committed suicide and he had left evidence behind that lead police to look for the package.

It was a close thing, however. The package was on the postal truck on the way to her house and would have been delivered that day had police not acted as quickly as they did.

Third Watch recently had an episode that echoed this very case....

Celebs have to be very careful. It's so much easier nowadays to find out information on the "object" or "target" of the obsession over the internet.

But anyone can get stalked, not just celebrities.

:O... but that's a different case. that's a live show, you actually see the performer and you can have contact with her/him.
and really, who would give a damn to the actor who has only a few lines and basically just walking around, pointing finger in a TV soap opera? and if routh wasn't chosen, will we talk about him? will there be a sticked thread solely for him? and i remember someone said here before s/he only watches movie if it has stars and superman should have some big stars in it.

It's not unheard of for people to follow stars who aren't HUGE. I'm not sure why you think the opposite.

P.S. Routh's role on OLTL did not only consisit of a few lines and pointing his fingers. Please do more research before you make these incredibly ignorant remarks.

No, anyone can get stalked. Not just celebrities.

The dancer that got stalked wasn't even one of the lead dancers, she was a swing (she would sub for other dancers on their days off or if they were sick or injured) and danced many different parts. she was mostly a member of the chorus line, however. Not a star by any stretch.

i see. but we are not talking about to get stalked. i was just saying people actually paying attention and what's more being a fan of an actor who only plays small roles is rare and very precious.

lossen up, batgirl. i was just trying to point out routh playing small roles last time. :)

I'm one of those rare ones. I firmly believe that the small character actors are what make a movie the most fun. It's best to watch older movies to really get into the idea of seeing these unsung heroes of the cinema....but I drive my wife batty (when she isn't having me show the ability off) by naming the third guy from the left holding the pitchfork.

Well, there is the flip side of that, you don't have to be a big star to have fans.

There were plenty of fans for others in that show that hadn't turned ugly... they got flowers, cards, candy... Some of the lead singers even had head shots they would autograph.

If I told you any of their names, you'd have no idea who they were. They were nobodies, very charismatic nobodies, but nobodies none the less. You don't need to have a big part in a movie or even have a famous face to have fans.

then this one goes out to you: http://www.fametracker.com/hey_its_that_guy/ :D

Actually, I must be one of the rare ones too... I know a lot of the names on that list.

interesting site.

I know a lot of them too. but some of them hardly qualify anymore. I

mean, Sean Bean? very far from the same category as, say, Pruitt Taylor Vince. :D

:) well said above. and to know that someone has already paying attention to routh while he was a nobody is... a surprise to me?

Well, maybe that proves that there is something about Routh that the larger viewing public hasn't noticed yet but, apparently, Singer has.
