This is an honest question to everyone here. Do you think we'll get a Routh's own take on Superman/Clark Kent or do you think he'll just try to mimic Reeve's performance? I'm not sure what we should expect, if BJ really is a fan, I'd hope he'll bring something else to the role, but I have this horrible feeling they want a Reeve impersonator (more or less). I don't know if this is true or not, but I thought I read somewhere that he does a great Reeve/clark impersonation. If thats right, I personally hope thats not why he was chosen. I want to see the character's portrayal evolve.

I doubt he'll impersonate Reeve's Clark Kent, considering that Reeve played him a bit over the top and it seems that this film won't be campy like the past ones. If anything I bet we'll see a more mild-mannered Clark Kent instead of the bumbler, but we'll probably see a shy and soft spoken CK, which is a couple of the characteristics I see in CK.

Superman, I'm not sure. How different can Routh's be? Reeve was pretty dead on.

This is what happened to Zing. He got sick of being associated with Welling everytime he had an opinion (even when the opinion had nothing to do with his casting). So he got his ass out of dodge.

I agree, and it's also because Welling is currently playing a version of the character while we have yet to see Routh in the role.

I'm assuming you're implying that this circle jerk is no differnent then previous circle jerks that might have involved Welling. Slight flaw in your logic if that is so. Nay BIG flaw. First the 'circle jerk' refers to EVERYTHING about this movie, not just selective casting. You can't say a negative thing about the film if you previously supported Welling, cause it's just going to come back to that. And I don't recall you being driven away from the Super forum as a result of a Welling 'circle jerk'.

Who said that the only thing Welling fans could see Welling as is Clark Kent?

As if...

I don't know why the man hasn't worked more, probably because he's got a new wife he likes to spend time with on his vacations.

However, I wish he would just so he could finally put to rest all the "Welling can't act" bs that people seem to spew at the slightest excuse.

The man can act and he does it very well.

Please refer to his performance in the Smallville episode Transference where he wasn't playing Clark at all, but Lionel, and did a ****ing brilliant job.

It's over and done with and you Routh fans shouldn't react to newbs either too dumb to know it's a fruitless endeavour to bring up casting in here or too trollish that they're just trying to stir things up.

Either way, people from now on should ignore those kinds of posts in here. It only opens up a lot of old wounds...
