Maybe once I see the suit on him I'll change my mind but for now I just can't see it. I see him more as one of those mall Superman's who on their brakes will be sitting smoking and drinking and talking dirty to ladies kind of like Bad Superman in Superman III.

Oh ok, whatever. You're too caught up in your own choice to see it and you've seen your choice for four years, so I don't expect you to see anything in Routh.

I mean come on now, who saw the Punisher in this guy?

Or the Wolverine in this guy?

Funny, quite a few non-Superman fans can totally see Routh as Superman. This is from when they were watching him on One Life to Live...

I remember when Thomas Jane was cast as Frank Castle, the Punisher fans were heated. Then when we were a few months away from the movie's release, how they were excited over the movie stills of Jane as Castle.

On another note, even though the Punisher film didn't turn out well, I think Jane's performance was the highlight, he was awesome.

Seems to me a lot of people who post about Routh in a "poor" light must have super powers themselves...to be able to tell so much about someone simply based on a picture.

Amazing.

He must be cocky, and a horrible soul, because the studio people said "pose like this". If I were a fan of Superman I certainly would be able to tell everything about the man who is bringing him back to the theatre...

Simply amazing.

Keep up the "profile" work. I am sure you are spot on.

It is a shame that "fans" can't meet the guy, I am certain that he is a kool kat. But the studio is trying to bring you the best movie posible, and want you to have a gift, surprise, whatever you want to call it.

I can't wait to see how kick ass cool he will be and how great the movie will be.

Yeah, I thought Jane was a joke. I was wrong.

Tonight on E! True Hollywood Stories...

The man who would be Superman: The Tom Welling story.

Tom: "Yeah, I auditioned for Superman, but it just wasn't my gig... you know? At that point in my career the offers were flooding in. I just didn't want to tie myself down to one particular schtick.. you know?"

Reporter: "So where has your career taken you sans Superman?"

Tom: "There was the sequel to Cheaper by the dozen... Cheaper by the baker's dozen... the talking pie script over at Paramount... ummm... ummm... and a whole host of toothpaste commercials."

Reporter: "So no regrets about Superman then?"

Tom: "Work is work."
 :D

No but seriously don't get man at what I said I am just stating what I feel maybe it will change later down the road. And to be honest I don't want Welling either I am all for an unknown but I just dont think he might be right for the part thats all. Oh and Sage that pic of Wolverine was after he did X-Men so he was already seen as him ;) but as I was saying I might change my mind I just don't see it in him right now. Thats why I am holding all judgements till after the movie.

Well duh, that's what I meant silly. Just like Bale's the actor playing Batman on film. :p
Well, the inference I got was that you're subscribing to the general trend 'round here that whatisname is the ANNOINTED ONE and that we should all come and pray at the Singer altar and sing our praises to HIS SUPERMAN.

Almost like it was the second coming...

Frankly, it's a little much for me. As much as I like the character I'm kinda tired of all the Lionizing 'round here of HWSNBN and Singer, et al.

He's just an actor to me and Singer, just a director.

Your mileage may vary.

However, that is prolly the main thing that has shoed me away from this forum for the last couple of weeks.

It seems like sacrilage should anyone criticize anything about this film or Singer's Chosen One...

Anyway, I'm being cranky again.

Got a bad head cold and am trying to look like I'm working even though I'm not: can't get up the motivation to deal with all the work I gotta do while I feel like going home and going back to bed.

I got almost 80 hours of vacation coming to me, maybe I'll cut out early today...

Neither are officially THE Batman or Superman until we see their performance on film. And I'm not even gonna get into that "Who's this generation's whatnot", because that shiet is ridiculous. :o
I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that, I was getting worried that I was out here alone in the wilderness... ;)

Well, I won't be burning sacrifices to Singer anytime soon. :)

I'm not saying Routh is perfect, but some people just bash the guy before seeing him, and some do it harshly.

I know the feeling. It's freaking cold where I am, I was freezing my butt off yesterday driving around and taking care of a few things. Cold can make you real cranky. :(

I could've sworn you said over in the Batman threads that Welling should've been Supes. Don't tell me you just said that to start an arguement. :)

I said he would have been a great Superman and if going off of the choices given to us I would have picked him over Routh yes. But my choice for Superman is still out there.

I think that Welling is a great TV Superman would he have done good for the movie maybe I dont know but I feel that we should have gotten better then Routh. I think he was a rushed pick when there are far more better actors; but as I said before maybe I am wrong and I will with hold judgement till the movie is out and I have seen it.

Um, a rushed decision? Well Singer was on the project for a decent amount of time before he chose Routh, we must also take into consideration the fact that the search for the new Superman has been going on for several years now.

You can say that Singer was not the director over al that time, but he still had access to the tapes of those actors aswell as the knowledge of who they were and thus the ability to go back an look again at them. In fact this is exactly how he came apon Routh.

So a rushed choice he was not.

I thought the movie was very good, one of the better superhero movies so far, and Jane, well he was superb.

You're right though, some cast choices don't always seem like the best to fanboys, but once they see the film and what that actor/actress did with the character, they eat their own words. Wolverine and the Punisher are perfect examples, William C. Duncan as Kingpin is another, and I think Routh has a good chance of doing it too.

ONce again your reading to much into what I said I thnik out of the choices giving I would have taken Welling over Routh now but my real choice would have been for an unknown but I would have went proably for a better unkown and as I said before maybe I might be wrong thats why I hold all judgement till I see the movie.

Thanks for the tip, but I may put them in the dryer instead... it would probably heat them more evenly.

I know. ;)

Off topic, how do you get rid of those lines produced when you scan something? I'm trying get something very important.

Look in your settings and see if you can find something about descreen... Turn Descreen on.

The problem happens because magazines and newspapers are printed using little dots and scanners scan in dots so they will exaggerate the dots in the original.

If you select auto-descreen (the exact term may vary, depending on your scanner) the software will adjust for that and get rid of the moire pattern that comes up....

If you have an HP scanjet scanner, I can give more detailed directions. (I work at hp in the division that develops those little suckers...)

Luckily, that's what I have. I'm using photovista, right now I'm trying to figure out how to save the picture I scanned but I can't find the save option under file.
