Superman Returns The Official Brandon Routh IS Superman thread.

I've really seen nothing with Routh, so my guess he'd be good is as good as any other guess.

I am 99.999999% certain that I walked by Brandon Routh yesterday! As most of you know I work at CBS Television City. Yesterday we got out at 12noon because of the holidays, so us guys in Special Effects went across the way to The Grove/Farmers Market to eat lunch. We were coming out of Morel's Restaurant at about 1.30 and one of the guys said, "Damn this place is nuts, so many people!" I said "Yeah it really feels like Disneyland now". The Grove is very Disney-esque with it's Tram and water fountain playing to music.

As we round the corner headed back to TVC I see a guy coming toward me carrying shopping bags. He is Tall Dark haired and wearing a white T-shirt, white baseball cap and blue jeans. (He was with a girl and someone else) As I get closer I say to my boss, "Andy that guy is the new Superman!" by this time I am 15ft from him and can clearly see it is him. My boss says "what is his name" and I explain the whole Routh sounding like South bit. He says, "So if I call out Brandon he will turn around?" and I said "yeah perhaps??"

I tell my boss that I should have asked when he is going to Australia. Anyway by this time he is about 100ft away so we don't call anything out. As we get back to TVC's gate, I decide that I will go back damn it! I put some stuff in my car and move it closer to the gate. (Actually I didn't want my boss to see me going back lol! as it looks like stalking to the uninformed!)

Well I went back and spent about 25minutes looking for him. I went in all the big stores, looked in some of the restaurants, but he was gone. He was headed in the direction of the Parking structure and valet parking, so chances are that he was leaving, especially as he appeared to have already done shopping.

So there you have it!! A total missed opportunity on my part. btw. he looked just like the recent picture on his site with Alan Horn? He was unshaven and his hair looked a little long like in that picture. Oh! and his arms were not skinny. His guns actually looked pretty good but not MASSIVE. So perhaps he has more training to do. He looked very fit though and had kind of a swimmers build. He is definitely tall enough to convey Superman presence as he really stood out from the crowd. (At least to me)

I wonder if Batgirl knows where he lives in L.A.? If it is close to the Fairfax area then maybe he frequents the Grove/Farmers market all the time.


Like I said earlier I am 99.999999% certain it was BR. A missed opportunity indeed! :(

He does live in LA but I don't know where exactly. Let me do some checking. Very cool if it was him.

99.999999% Certain. I just didn't put 100% so as to "cover my you know what" in case I was wrong. lol! I am so pissed I didn't ask him right there and then! I let him get away because I procrastinated. :(

Well I'm sure she had dark blond hair, as I was wondering if it was his sister. So the fact she didn't have dark hair made me think that it was perhaps an acquaintance and not a sibling. Unfortunately I didn't study her too intently as I was kind of thrown for a loop, coming across him like that. Tons of Famous people frequent the Grove and Farmers market but I wasn't expecting to see him!

what do you think of him, as you'd seen him "up close and personal"? got the hero charm/presence/feel?
 
oh no....why is this big nosed goof wearing a Batman costume? don't disgrace the costume Ruth! dammit! ugh....even though it halloween, that pic of him wearing that is no good......ugh. Look at that beak the guy has huh? sheesh....

Regarding the batsuit: it's a joke. Kinda like how Dean Cain wore a Batman shirt underneat his tuxedo at the Golden Globes or something when Lois and Clark was on the air.
 
Check out his right arm, is that the Bat-muscle suit or is he buffer already? I can't tell.
